Queen of Hearts

Hello Sassy friends!

Yippee, no more school lunches or running around for a little while for me. 

Lazy mornings are definately on the agenda until Aprill 22!

I'm sure you've seen the new moodboard for April. 

I had so much fun putting it together and I hope you'll be inspired

to create with us this month!

My layout is totally centred on this cheeky shot 

of my DD, cheating playing cards. I've created a heart theme with various 

types of materials, acrylic (Heidi Swapp), hand cut ones with glossy accents 

or gold pen doodles, stickers and heat embossing. 

To create the one in the middle, bottom row, I cut only half with a craft knife, 

then folded it over to reveal the beautiful text print on the reverse. 

I've matted this area with silver glitter cardstock 

and accented with a teeny arrow stamp.

 Perk up your alphas with a splash of colour using Copic markers, paint or pens. 

The little Freckled Fawn wood chip has been given a good thick coat 

of embossing enamel. It's much coarser than regular embossing powder, 

so to prevent it from fallen the item you want to emboss, one must 

heat it from underneath. The word 'hearts' was set and cut using my Silhouette 

and given a coat of Glossy Accents. I love the dimension and shine it creates.

 My journalling (as usual) is hidden on the reverse of this pull out tab.

 A few more mini hearts in the form of punches and stickers (Glitz Design) 

complete the grid pattern.

Creating with one shape can really pack a punch. Why don't you give it a try!

April Mood Board

Hello Sassy Scrappers!

Aren't you lucky to have dropped by today because we have two great posts for you in one!!

First up is me (Leonie) sharing my usual post with my take on the Aril Mood Board followed by the other Design Team members pages for our current Challenge.

So, I hope you're ready to be inspired and enthused by our April Mood board designed by the clever and talented Chantalle McDaniel.  

This is my take on the images Chantalle put together.

There are so many gorgeous images to inspire on this mood board.  

What caught my eye the most were the coloured dots and geometric pattern in the bikini

picture.  These inspired the background work on my page.  

The other images I drew on were the script quote and the Navy Blue and Gold Hello image.

The Navy blue colour actually had me stumped for quite a while it's not a colour I usually use but 

I wanted to include it because it had initially jumped out at me.

I finally came up with using navy card stock and dies to make the flowers and frames on my page.

To add a little shimmer I sprayed them with Navy Color Shine by Heidi Swapp.

 Evaliscious puffy stickers and sequins for embellishments. -how cute is that little camera?!  

The little arrow pictured above is also from the range of 

Evaliscious embellsihments in the store.  I just painted this one pink to match my theme. 

My background was sprayed using the gorgeous neon sprays from Hero Arts.

The Patterned papers I've used and this flair are all from the 

currently popular Amy Tan Plus One range.

Today We Play

Hello Sassy Friends and happy Friday to you all!

 

It's the last few days to hop in and join us for our fabulous March Moodboard! 

Your gorgeous entry could land you a tasty voucher to spend 

on whatever your little heart desires!

Keeping it sweet and simple today with this layout using Glitz Design 'Hello Friend' along 

with some Heidi Swapp, Pink Paislee and Evalicious goodies.

 Echoing the pretty printed banners on the patterned paper 

with this HS acrylic banner, machine stitched on.

 I've highlighted the circular print with lots of mixed circular embellies, like sequins,

enamel dots and a epoxy sticker I made with my Epiphany round tool.

 I've always had a huge crush on the Glitz Giant Rhinestones. This clear one from the Finnley collection was perfect for this project. The new Evalicious embellishments 

are quite fabulous also! I was very impressed that the flair badges came pre-loaded

with adhesive as well as being placed on individually perforated clear backings to make testing them out on your page super easy.

In other news, I had the wonderful chance to catch up with the enchanting Heidi Swapp yesterday. So great to see her again and be completely inspired by the new lines about to hit the Sassy shelves imminently!! Dreamy, My Favorite Things and new Color Magic lines are available to pre-order already, so avoid disappointment and grab yours now!
