Finally Winter is here!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning all.... well it has been a wild, windy, rainy ride over here in the West. Ohhhhhhhh how its nice to have a winter day for a change, however not amused with Mother Nature's sense of humour with making it the coldest, windiest and wettest part of the day when picking up the kids from school. On the plus side the weather is perfect for some creating.

 

So a quick share with you as I type this post the lights flicker.... throughout the month I have been sharing with you the Kaisercraft On this Day range and I am loving its versatility... so far a romantic, whimsy and vintage layouts have been created, I am unsure how to classify this layout simple? elegant? timeless? I will let you all decide.

 

 

For me I wanted to use the romance of the paper without making it to floral as I know my darling other half will just nod and say "its ookkkkkkkkkkkkk" code for why so many flowers?

 

 I love the Kaisercraft On this Day Collectables, as they have the cutest little frames that allow you to make an instant journal square and they are also cut out in the centre to make an instant frame....

On this Chilly Day.....

Good Morning, hope the weather is treating you well... sunny and extremely cold over here in the West at the moment.... Today I thought I would share with you how versatile the Kaisercraft On this day range is. 

  Last week you saw me create a soft whimsy page with it and this week I would like to share with you a vintage page. This last 4 months or so I have been delving into my Grandparents old, old photos of them when they first started dating, there are not that many but they are precious and rather than set myself a task to complete a whole album at once I have been doing an odd layout here and there and waiting on ranges of papers that really work with these photos.     As you all would know by now I am a fan of fussy cutting, someone the other day asked me ''don't you find it painful? I hate it'', I wish I did lol but I often sit in front of the television at night time and just cut out what ever pattern papers. Sunday inspiration..... mood board style.

Good morning.... hope you are all well and have been creating up a storm. I am after what has felt like an eternity without any major mojo or more importantly motivation, I am getting back into my creative flow... so with that in mind I would like to share with you my interpetation of the mood board... and it wasnt easy even though I created it lol.

 So for those who have been wanting to play along with the board and dont know where to start I would like to share some tips with you...

 

I started with the colours.... the idea of a mood board is to grab the colours, images, and textures. For me the sense of the board is a soft, whimsy and dreamy theme so I wanted to show that in my layout.

The Kaisercraft On this Day range helped me achieve the whimsy dreamy effect, the key colour for me was the blue.... the sticker boarders made a quick base for my photo and I used a combination of gesso and Tim Holtz stains to get a washed out effect....

To add more of the whimsy feel to the layout, I used the new to store Heidi Swapp stencils to add a bit of fun to the layout, I used texture paste, and once it was dry, I added some glue and glitter... and dont forget the beautiful Prima flowers to add extra dimension.

And for a quick title, some  Imaginarium chipboard words covered in glue and glitter... to mimic the photo on the board with the glitter.

On This Day... Sunday...

Good morinng, how are you this Sunday? I am trying to convince my kids and a barking dog to sleep in, because its the holidays just started, but I am having no luck at all.... and its a freezing morning, and I don't wanna get out of bed!!! (OK now that I sound like one of my kids whining)...

 

So for the month of July, I will be using the beautiful Kasiercraft On This Day range and I love everybit of my kit from Sassy Scrappers, I love how it has suprised me as it isnt something that I would normally gravitate too, but I think I will be exploring this style more often.

 

Fussy cutting adds instant dimension, you can add foam mount under the flowers or you can also just use a little bit of adhesive in the center of your flower clusters.... perfect for those scrappers that dont like lumpy and bumpy pages.

The Kaisercraft diecut pack comes with a number of co ordinating embellishments and for me the hardest thing  for me is deciding what to use on what page, but there are alot in the pack making them great value.
