This View | Heidi Swapp Hawthrone | Agnus Kasprzak

Hi :) I have been playing with the gorgeous new Heidi Swapp Hawthrone collection and loved combining the rich moody tones with some delicate foil flakes to create my latest layout.

Before starting the page, I tested several types of adhesives to see what would work best with the foil flakes and found that besides actual gilding size - a thin layer of tacky glue produced the best results for what I wanted to acheive.

I started by masking off a section of the background paper using washi tape, then poured out some tacky glue onto my craft matt and used a small sponge to apply a thin even coat of glue onto the page using a light dabbing motion and ensuring not to over saturate the paper to prevent warping.

Working in small sections I sprinkled on rose gold foil flakes over the glued where I had applied the glue and used my fingers to gently spread the flakes over the glued area then went back over the area with a dry brush to help attach the flakes to the page while removing the excess then peeled back the washi tape to reveal a clean crisp line.

Even though I deliberately left some areas of my background visible, you could easily apply more flakes to achieve full coverage.  I addes some paper layers along with some of the cardstock stickers .

I love that this collection features some 'Minc'able items, giving you the option to either leave the products as they are or use Minc reactive foil to add some matching foil highlights.

Project Life Monday | Sassy Mood Board Inspiration...

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome to another mini tutorial creating December Project Life filler cards. All this month I am playing with the stunning new October Afternoon | Under The Tree collection to create a series of PL2015 cards in readiness for the silly season! Today I  am using the new Sassy Mood Board as my inspiration.

The big red star from the mood board caught my eye immediately, so I've teamed up the OA Merry Making patterned paper with some super cool Heidi Swapp RED Minc Foil. I had some old gold tinsel lying about in my stash too and simply because it was shiny I needed to add it to my 4"x6" PL card.

step 1: Trim the OA | Merry Making pp to size - 3.75"x5.75". It is slightly smaller than the 4"x6" regular size for a PL card to allow for a 4x6 black cardstock base to create a border aroung the outside edge.

step 2: Twist twine/gold tinsel into a circle shape and staple to the right hand side of the OA patterned paper.

step 3: Using a small piece of Heidi Swapp plain black toner card and a matching piece of RED minc foil, minc the card to transform it to a shiny red. On the reverse side of the foiled card, trace/draw a star shape - approx 4"x4". Trim and mount onto the OA paper with foam tape.

step 4: Using the reindeer tag from the OA | die cut Cards & Tags attach it to the left side of the OA patterned paper.

step 5: Fussy cut the word 'Merry'  from the OA | Making Merry patterned paper and layer across the top of the star.

step 6: Finish the card by adding a 4"x6" black/black glitter cardstock base to the OA patterned paper. This will hide any staples/stitching on the back of the card and protect the plastic pockets from being punctured.

And there you go! Another quick and easy card to place into your pocket pages, ready to start documenting December!! Thanks for visiting today..x
