Hello again!
I will probably be winging my way up the Bruce Highway by the time this little post
goes 'to air'... For me, there is nothing like the Sunshine Coast for a bit of R&R!
When I first saw the heartfelt sentiments on this beautiful Studio Calico Sundrifter paper, I
knew exactly who I wanted to centre this layout around. Sometimes life can kick us in the guts. Those that continuously get back up, humble and inspire me. My sister is one of them!
I started by loosely painting the whole thing with Gesso. It toned the paper down a bit, while retaining the text beneath. I then highlighted a phrase that stood out for me, with an Artline 200 fineliner. I cut the heart die with my Silhouette and machine stitched it in place,
using a 'noughts and crosses' grid
I can't actually think of the last time I used a flower on a layout... but I wanted to add some softness, so I've created a little floral cluster using resin, paper and sticker flowers. There are also a few tiny masked hearts using a Studio Calico 'Wonderland' star mask.
I absolutely LOVE the
Sundrifter die cut shapes, as they come primed with adhesive. All you have to do it peel the backing off and away you go! I also adore the new
Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' clear stamps. I've used the grid one to tie in with the stitching.
Do you know someone who might be uplifted by something you could create for them? Why not give it a go... The sentiment won't go amiss I'm sure!
Have a fabulous weekend!
