Beautiful Chic by Websters Pages

Hello and welcome to the Sassy Scrapper blog.
Leonie here today and I can hardly believe we're at the end of another month!
Half way through the school term already and we're mentioning school holidays, yet it feels like we
only just finished the summer holiday break!!

Anyway, today I have this lovely page to share using the Websters Pages - Beautiful Chic.

This collection has some gorgeous teal and lime greens along with pinks which make a lovely colour combo.  There are also some neutrals which are great for blending the stronger colours together.
I wanted to recreate the reverse side of the 'In Bloom' paper (below) which has lots of old letters and notes
piled on top of each other.

So I went about cutting and tearing various neutral journal squares from the 'Clippings'
Paper below.

I then used distress ink on the edges to try and get that old worn look and then
set about some layering....and then more layering.  :)
I used a black and white Polaroid Vellum Frame over my square photo to set it apart from all that layering.

In the picture below you can see some stencilling with modelling paste using a Dear Lizzy Stencil.
I just wanted to add a little more texture to that wood grain paper.

To finish off I used a gorgeous Prima Bloom spray of flowers  These particular ones come already arranged with leaves and some pearls.  Perfect for people like me that struggle to get that artfully arranged flower cluster!

Happy happy heart

Hello Sassy Friends!

TGIF - let's get ready to enjoy our weekends!

As some of you know, my little sausage started Prep this year and it's been a tough
ride in the mornings, when it comes to leaving time.
This page is about how I'm missing her infectious sunny disposition.
Here's hoping we turn a corner and see her gorgeous smile instead of tears!

The Webster's Pages woodgrain paper was the inspiration for the colour palette. I've pulled out similar tones from the Maggie Holmes 'Open Book' goodies I've been playing with this month as well as some stickers from the beautiful Simple Stories 'I AM' collection which is just one for the stunning NEW collections in store!

Something I've just discovered is metallic thread. Totally swoon-worthy! It's super fine, so I was advised to buy some metallic needles for my sewing machine. I seriously love how this stitching ties in with the lush pops of gold.

WRMK has brought out some new adhesive sequins, which makes adding them to projects a breeze! Also new in store.

I've been hoarding these divine stickers for a while now. They are back in stock!! Be quick and grab a pack today.

Thanks so much for joining me today. If you haven't done so already, I hope you will consider adding our moodboard to your 'to do' list this weekend ;)

'Til next time!
Chantalle x

pink and gold - Anita Bownds

Hi..
are you Getting inspired by our lovely moodboard this month i hope so

so this week I've used lots of pink with gold
I started by selecting some light pink crape paper and machine stitching it into a ruffle

I layered it on my card adding a die cut doily some patterned paper
And a white cardstock tag then adding the flower stamp with gold ink

And what better way then to finish off
By adding some lovely gold leaves and velum and pink flowers with a few sequin

And while I was playing with lots of pink and gold
I created this layout using a few patterned papers and some velum with gold polka dots

And using more of those lovely gold leaves and flowers
Along with a velum title

They are quite lovely the velum titles

Project Life Tutorial | Layered Filler Card...

Hello Sassy Friends! It's Leanne here today and I am sharing a tutorial on a layered filler card.  Have you noticed the water colour trend lately?  I thought I'd share a technique which embraces the idea and it has so many Project Life possibilities. It's pretty simple to create and lots of fun too!

Time to break out your art supplies!

step 1. Gather your supplies:

cotton thread (white)
watercolour paper
watercolour paints

step 2. Spray the surface of your watercolour paper with a light mist of water.  With a wet brush, apply your selected paint colours to the paper and watch them blend.  For a softer colour, apply more water to the paper with your brush or alternatively, for stronger colours apply more layers of paint.

step 3. Once the paper has been allowed to dry, use the metal doily die and cut out the shape. Make certain to remove all the intricate excess pieces to allow the doily to be showcased.

step 4. Trim the Dear Lizzy patterned paper (top right corner - pink and yellow confetti) to 3"x4" and layer the doily on top. Once you're happy with the position, adhere to the patterned paper.

step 5. Choose a turquoise framed label sticker and adhere to the lower edge of the doily.  Add some cotton thread for texture.

step 6. Now select the large butterfly from the Dear Lizzy Ephemera pack and adhere to the top of the layers.  note: The butterfly will also help secure the cotton thread.

step 7.  For the finishing touches, punch out several butterfly shapes from the Amy Tangerine Stitched patterned paper and add to the filler card.  Now complete the card by adding two enamel dots to the right edge of the label sticker.

Obviously, the watercolour effect can be achieved with any die and the same process as shown above. Just think of all the awesome possibilities to use them in your PL2015 spreads!  Thanks for joining me here today..x
