All You Need Is Icecream | Simple Stories Hello Summer | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout using the Hello Summer collection.
I started out by cutting a large vertical strip from the watermelon paper to adhere on the right side of the page and cut a smaller strip for the left side. I then placed the black and white scallop sticker beside the small strip.
I had two super cute photos of my niece eating ice-cream and some of the elements in this collection go perfectly with the photos! I set the photos out in a vertical design to fit in with the paper strips.
The All You Need Is Ice-cream title was the perfect title for my layout so I placed it to the left of my bottom photo. I added a few chipboard stickers, wood veneers and some die-cuts to embellish.

The sticker tabs with the words on them are great for adding extra little details!

Make sure to check this collection out in the Sassy store plus so much more!

Happy creating!

Hello Paradise | Simple Stories Hello Summer | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you on the Sassy blog again today!

I am currently working with the gorgeous Hello Summer collection by Simple Stories! It's super bright and beautiful and luckily I have lots of Summery photos to use with it!

I started off my page today by fussy cutting the Paradise title out of the paper with all the titles on them. I had my photo picked out and also knew that I wanted to use that leaf paper as a background. The Paradise title was the perfect fit for this photo. I added the chippie 'Hello' for added interest too.

I ripped the patterned paper in half and adhered it to the top half of the page. I then took out my Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide and added some water to it, I then 'smooshed' it using the packaging technique and also splattered some drops with a paint brush onto the white parts of the cardstock.

I placed my photo down and tucked in some of the pretty flower stickers and die-cuts on each side of the photo. I then popped up the Paradise title using foam squares and added the Hello word also. Lastly I added a wood veneer palm tree and some phrase stickers to finish off.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Sassy blog today! I hope you are inspired to get this collection from the Sassy store if you haven't already got it?!

Happy creating!

First Day Of Kindy | Simple Stories Lil Dude | Gail Lindner

Hello and welcome to the Sassy Scrappers blog today! My name is Gail Lindner and I'm thrilled to be a guest designer here today!

I got to play with the Lil Dude collection by Simple Stories  which is perfect for my colorful, dinosaur loving, adventurous little boys!

I always find my best inspiration comes from the product itself and for this layout, I was inspired by the striped design on the 'Super Hero' patterned paper.

I decided to pull out my watercolours and create my own striped background! My colours were a bit more subtle, but that way the focus would still be on my photos right!?

The collection has lots of stickers, die cuts, puffy stickers and chipboard pieces to embellish. I always like using a variety of textures of embellishments.

Thanks so much for popping by today! Be sure to check out this collection in the Sassy store - especially if you have little boys like me!

May Pocket Pages | Amy Tangerine Shine On | Agnus Kasprzak

Hi again :) I am back with another pocket page share using more fun items from Amy Tangerine's 'Shine On' collection.

The bright, bold patterns in this range really helped to bring my pics to life and the 6x6" paper pad gave me more than enough variety for the entire month of memories.

As shared in my previous post, I used a white paint pen to add some dots to a kraft cardstock background in several of my pockets and used up some of the larger die-cut pieces from the ephemera pack. I try to include something to reflect the cost of living in our albums each year, and decided to document the rising cost of petrol this month.

I often look for items that will unify each month and decided to create more of the little scalloped frames I used for the first part of the month - I simply traced around one of the cut apart words from the paper pad with a black sharpie and added a small scalloped border before cutting it out to add to my pockets.

Breaking up some of the patterns and adding one of the chipboard accents with a couple of hearts was a quick and easy way to create a journal card.

I've noticed that when my pages feature a lot of 'non-people' photos it can be a challenge to keep the page looking interesting, but these memories are just as important to document and I often rely on embellishments in a mix of sizes and textures to help add interest to my page.

Combining more gold foiled paper from the paper pad with another chipboard accent helped to dress up one of those 'non-people' pics.

Filler cards are also a great way to give your page a boost, and you really can't go wrong with a grouping of repeated items as adorable as the inflated hearts from this range.

I used some of the larger accents from the ephemera pack to fill in some of the negative space on the photo and as you might have already noticed, I like to group my embellishments into clusters and always try to mix up the layers with a few different textures which was definitely made easy thanks to the great variety of accents featured this collection

Splash Zone | Simple Stories Hello Summer | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout using the gorgeous Hello Summer collection by Simple Stories

This collection is absolutely gorgeous with its bright colours and Summery elements! I started off being dropping some mist splatters in both blue and yellow so that it slightly replicated splashes of water.

I decided to take out both the ephemera and sticker circles and placed them around my photo to frame it. I also added the beach ball, the lime and the sun as they went well with the circles too.

The Splash Zone ephemera piece was the perfect title and I like how it looks on the right of the photo. I tucked in a few of the green leaf prongs for added interest and also picked out a few phrase stickers to add that went with the theme of the page.

The chipboard banner is super cute so I added that to the top of the layout and then to balance the page, I added a strip of patterned paper and another phrase sticker to the bottom edge of the layout.

All these gorgeous Hello Summer goodies can be found in the Sassy store! Make sure you check out the all new look!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Happy creating!
