Reach for the Stars | Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

This week the inspiration for my layout came from the blue Cars and Stars paper that I chose for the background. I really like using darker backgrounds to change things up a little. The stars on the paper gave me the idea to use the title 'Reach for the Stars' and I had just enough of the letters to make the word stars without having the same colour together.

On the left of the photo, I added some of the Rocket Ships paper as well as some of the B side of the Bingo cards paper. I also tucked in a white tag from stash and added a piece of twine through the hole. The flair button 'Boy Stuff' is also from my stash. On the right hand side of the photo, I mainly embellished with stickers from the sticker sheet however I did add one of the awesome layered stickers

Lastly I added some of the wood veneer pieces to enhance the page a bit more and the word 'Strong'  from the washi tape roll. I really like how they look against the dark blue paper. I also added the date stamp of the date the photo was taken and I splattered some white mist around as well.
Thanks for stopping by the Sassy blog today! I hope I have inspired you to check out the Sassy store for boy collections!

Hello Handsome | Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

This week the inspiration for my page comes from my photo. I loved the light colour of the sandstone column my son is leaning on in this photo. The blue shirt he is wearing is a great contrast against the light background too. I pulled out some of the woodgrain elements and some of the blue tone things from the Petticoats and Pinstripes collection to help coordinate everything.

I started out by adhering the 'B' side of the moustache paper horizontally to a plain white cardstock background. I then took one of the 12inch stickers from the sticker sheet and stuck it to the bottom of the paper.
I placed some craft foam underneath my photo to pop it up off the page. I like how this creates dimension and shadows.

I cut one of the bingo cards from the Bingo Cards paper and then layered one of the fuss cut 3' x 4' journal cards over the top of the bingo card. I used craft foam again here to pop it up, creating the dimension and shadows that I love. On the left of the photo, I added one of the banners fussy cut out from the 3' x 4' journal cards paper again under my photo I also added one of the layered stickers here for extra interest. Some of the wood veneer pieces were placed for embellishments and some of the word stickers too. Lastly, I added the date stamp and some splats of mist to finish my page. The washi tape strip was alsoplacedat the bottom of the page.

Journey | Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park

The Rocket Ships paper from the Petticoats and Pinstripes collection is so cool so I decided to cut out a rocket ship using my Silhouette Cameo and used the rocket paper to back it. I then used foam tape to give it dimension and pop it up off the page.

I used the Boy Dog Days paper over to the left of the 'B' side of the Stripes paper to break up some of the red. I layered a 3' x 4' journal card underneath my photo and then placed the photo tucked into the left side of the rocket ship.

To embellish I used lots of the stickers from the sticker sheet and some of the wood veneer from the September Skies collection. I made the triangles look like it was fire coming out of the rocket ship and the star chippie piece at the top is meant for a firework. I also layered one of the dimensional stickers over the rocket as well.

I Moustache You A Question | Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!
It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park

As soon as I saw that moustache paper in the Petticoats and Pinstripes collection I just knew I was going to create a layout with this title! Lately my husband has been saying this quote as though it has just been invented!! I am not sure if he had just never heard it before but he says it heaps now and he cracks himself up every time! To get this photo, I made my youngest son pose for me with the black cardstock moustache that I cut out on my Cameo machine! I then used the same moustache to embellish the page with!

I didn't want to use a full sheet of the moustache paper as its a little too busy on its own so I used some of the 'B' side of the Rocket Ships paper to break it up a little bit. I placed a piece of it vertically and also cut two strips from the Stripes paper and placed those at the very edges of the page.
I matted my photo using one of the cards from the 3' x 4' journalling cards paper  and placed it on craft foam and adhered it in the very centre of the page.

I layered a strip of the yellow globe paper vertically underneath the photo plus I used the journalling card with the moustache to layer some embellishments over. I used some foam dots underneath the big moustache to create some dimension and shadows, the moustache forms part of the title. The rest of the title is made up from the alphabet stickers from the sticker sheet. I also added a few of the word stickers and a couple of pieces of wood veneer from the wood veneer pack. I cut a word off the washi tape roll too.
