Pink Paislee Summer Lights | Hello Weekend | Guest DT Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative Friends,

It's Gwen back on the blog today with another share as this months Guest Designer.  This month I'm creating with the latest collection from Pink Paislee - Summer Lights and today I'm sharing my third page.  If you missed the first or second one, you can check them out here.

For this page, I really wanted to pull out the stunning turquoise and yellow in this collection, I was really inspired by the No 10 pattern paper which I have used as my background.

I had this sweet action shot of Miss 10 and my hubby at the beach and went about creating a little beach scene starting with a sun shape which I have cut using my Silhouette and a piece of 6x6 paper from the paper pad.

For the bottom part of the page, I wanted to create some waves, I didn't really having any cut files that would work, but then had an idea to use a border punch. There are a few in store here, and many would give you a similar effect.  I simply punched out a stack and trimmed them very thinly and layered on my page and then stitched down.  I chose different shades of the turquoise paper to simulate the waves.

Once I had the Sun and the waves in position, it was time to add my photo. I've mounted it with a scrap from my previous pages and a bright yellow sheet from the 6x6 paper pad.

It was then time to add my title, I went with a chipboard piece that says "The ocean is calling" and two more thicker stickers "Hello Weekend".  The Thicker pack is full of text that you could use as a simple and quick title to a page and they are really great value.  The page was now really coming together and just needed some finishing touches.  I chose a cute little camera, some glasses and star fish as well as some foil elements which are so fun!  I also added some clouds to the top of the page which have been fussy cut from one of the papers in the 6x6 paper pad.  I really love how this has come together.

Thanks for checking out the blog today, I've had an absolute blast creating these pages for you as part of the Guest DT and I hope you will check out the collection in store and get creating with your Summer filled photos.

Pink Paislee Summer Lights| Mermaid Hair don't Care | Guest DT Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative Friends,

Gwen with you today with another share as this months Guest Designer.  This month I'm creating with the latest collection from Pink Paislee - Summer Lights and today I'm sharing my second page.  If you missed the first one, you can check it out here.

As soon as I saw this collection, I knew I had to create a page with the chipboard Mermaid - how cute is she!!! AND that sentiment, "Mermaid Hair don't care" I adore that too so I then went about finding a photo of Miss 10 that would fit those. Living on the beautiful Gold Coast, we enjoy Summer most of the year and often find time to go to the waterfront for a swim, so it was not hard to find one of her looking like a gorgeous mermaid!

Next, I pulled out a stack of the frames from the Ephemera pack.  I wanted to heap them up as the base for my photo mat.  I just layered them up across one-third of my page crisscrossing at different angles.  I then went about matting my photo and added some foam tape for dimension.  Then it was time to add the mermaid, she was a perfect fit just to the right of my photo.  The chipboard in this collection is so sweet, with lots of cute icons and I thought why not add the umbrella here as well as some cute shells from the ephemera pack.

Once I was happy with this little cluster, I went about finding a spot for the sentiment "Mermaid Hair don't care".  It was a perfect fit under the photo and rounded out the embellishments needed for this side of the design.  This then meant that the left-hand side of the page was a little bare so I found the "Beach Life" chipboard piece and the little sign and camera and added these in.  I've also just slid a tag under my photo here as well, just for a little bit of interest and a lovely pop of pink!

I've added a couple of Rhinestones from my stash to round out of the layout and it was done.  I'm really happy with the clean look it has even though I've used a pattern paper for my background.

Thanks for checking out the blog today, I hope I've inspired you to get those Summer photos scrapped, this collection really is perfect for it!

Pink Paislee Summer Lights | Summer Love | Guest DT Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative Friends,

Gwen Wruck here today super excited to be stopping by the blog to share as this months Guest Designer for Sassy Scrappers!

For those of you who don't know me, I started scrapping in 1998 and still absolutely love it.  I am currently on many design teams including Coco Vanilla Studios and love showcasing products, sharing ideas and connecting with the scrap community and I am thrilled to be a Scrapbooking Memories Master for 2017, all of which keeps me very busy indeed!!

I do not know how Olga manages to get her hands on all the latest release goodies so fast, but I sure am happy to be able to snap them up!  This month I will be creating with the latest collection from Pink Paislee - Summer Lights and today I'm sharing my first page.

The idea for this page started with that cute bright pink 'Summer' element from the No 12 paper and the word 'Love' from the card stock sticker pack.  I knew I wanted to make this my title for a sweet photo of hubby and me at the beach.  Often, when I'm creating, a whole idea for a page starts with one or two elements from a collection, just like it did here, it makes creating so easy!

Next, I just had to use the cute little wave elements, these came from the card stock sticker pack as well as the Thickers sticker sheet.

It was now time to mount my photo.  To do this, I've added lots of lovely paper layers from the 6x6 paper pad.  I will often grab these when purchasing a new collection as they are a really economical way to get all the papers.  There is a stack of fun elements in the collection to choose from, but I thought the hearts were a great choice seeing it was a page about Summer Love!  I have also included lots of other Summer icons as well including cool glasses and icy poles, so fun!

Once my paper layers were all decided, the page had come together nicely.  All it needed was a little sprinkle of interest on the left and right side.  I started with the space above the word 'love' as it was the largest and chose a sweet little camera sticker and a shell from the chipboard pack.  I also added some stars from the card stock sticker sheet and a heart I'd just punched from a sneaky scrap I'd had from the photo mat.

How cute is the rainbow element?  It was the perfect touch for the top left-hand corner of my page.  Here you can also see the sprinkle of elements I created on the left, more punched hearts from the offcut pattern paper and some rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks for checking out the blog today, I know it's Winter here in Australia right now, so what better time to remember the joys of Summer and get those photos scrapped, this collection really is perfect for it!
