Agnus | Pocket Page Insert with Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love collection

Hi again :) I loved using the Elle's Studio 'Live Laugh Love' collection to document our March memories and because I still had heaps of great pieces left over I decided to using this collection to create an insert to record our little puppy's first day at the park.

I cut a 12x12" A design page protector in half vertically to create a simple 6x12" insert and like the way it works between my previous pages.

Besides adding photos, I pretty much let the products do all the work for my insert and the hardest part was deciding which patterns to use.

After creating lots of backgrounds and cards for my earlier pages, I was left with quite a few 2x4" strips from the 6x6" paper pad which I paired up to create some two toned cards as backgrounds for my horizontal photos.

I used the white alpha stickers and enamel dots to create a simple filler card, and loved the way it pops against the coloured background. I also added a hand stitched border to define a couple of the smaller photos on the page.

Going with printed journal strips over the cut-out and die-cut pieces to record the details of the day and finishing things off with some of the awesome puffy stickers..

I mirrored the majority of the photo placement on the reverse side of the insert.

This side also shows how I used the stitched border to secure a tab to my insert. To achieve this I simple stuck two patterned paper strips to the outer edges of both photos before adding the stitched border to each pic. Once stitched, I adhered both photos and paper strips together and cut out a v shaped notch from the edge. I cut a small slit on the front side of the page protector to allow the photos and tabs to slip inside the pocket.

Once again allowing the products to do the work... I finished things off with more fun patterns, some puffy stickers and a cute wood veneer piece.

Agnus | Live Laugh Love Pocket Pages

Happy Mother's Day! I hope you have a lovely day planned with your loved ones or perhaps are just enjoying some 'me time' today :) I am once again using the awesome Elle's Studio 'Live Laugh Love' collection to document the second part of March and am sharing a few of my 'go-to' design tips along the way.

While planning out my pages, I often select a single element that can be repeated throughout the pockets to create a cohesive look across my pages and while my previous post using this collection focused on horizontal elements, this time I repeated woodgrain paper and wood veneer pieces to help tie everything in together. This is particularly helpful when the content or colours of your photos don't necessarily match each other as my pages show.

I love the look of titles directly on my photos and combining the white alpha stickers in the classic Elle's Studio font with a strip of patterned paper and a few enamel dots was an easy way to dress up one of the many pics I captured of all the March rain ;)

I may have already mentioned how much I loved the fun accents in this collection and decided to keep my cards clutter free this month with just a few simple layers.

Besides the 6x6" paper pad, I also got a few single 12x12" sheets from this range and couldn't wait to add a little colour to my favourite pattern. Using the various cut-outs and die-cuts as a colour reference, I coloured in some of the cute hearts to create a customized card.

I added the reverse woodgrain pattern over a portion of the card, and split it between two pockets to document my little guy's birthday.

I added in a bit more colour for the second part of the month to liven up the photos.

And balanced out the brighter pics, with black and white patterned cards.

Another way to tie your cards in with your photos is to use accent pieces in a colour that is present in the photo - note how the tiny red heart picks up the colour of our puppy's harness.

Layers and mixed textures are a good way to add little pops of colour to your pages, and are great for dressing up photos with a lot of negative space.

Agnus | Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love Pocket Pages

Hi again :) I have been playing with the new 'Live Laugh Love' collection from Elle's Studio and am sharing some of our March memories from my project life album.

I love the bright and fresh colours in this collection and it was prefect for brightening up some not so colourful photos.

I love a range that provides not only pretty papers but coordinating embellishments too, and this collection definitely gave me a lot of options.

The puffy stickers were great for adding dimension and vivid colour, and the cardstock cut-outs and die-cuts were perfect for both filler cards and photos.

Besides repeating the same colours on the second page, I also repeated several horizontal elements to keep my pages looking consistent. I chose several patterned papers with a horizontal pattern from the paper pad and used horizontal journal strips along with horizontal accents pieces to create a continuous flow.

I also used some simple white alpha stickers in the classic Elle's Studio font to help me to create titles, and couldn't resist adding more of the cute puffy stickers to dress up my printed journal strips.

I used a horizontal puffy sticker to ground one of the longer journal strips to the photo, and utilized one of the die-cut tags to connect the 3x4" photo with one of the patterned papers for a larger 6x4" pocket.
