Use Those Scraps!

Hi everyone! It's Sam Hauzer here, with another layout to share using the We R Memory Keepers Anthologie range. This was the last layout I created with my dt kit, and I used up pretty much every little scrap...

Products used - WRMK Everyday Moments, Defined, Phraseology, Vintage AlphaAnthologies Layered Chipboard Words, Prima Miss Godivas Mermaid 9pk,

As you can see, I didn't have much left to work with! The striped paper and the red papers were just tiny little strips that I cut in half and placed behind the paper the photo and journalling is on. I know if I didn't use them straight away, they'd end up sitting in my scraps box forever! Even though it's simple, I'm happy with this layout. It's another photo and another memory scrapped - not every layout has to be a masterpiece.

So next time you finish scrapping with a particular range, have a look at your scraps and see if you can squeeze another layout out of it. You just might surprise yourself!

WRMK - Layout with Instructions

Hi everyone! It's Sam here today with a layout to share using the gorgeous We R Memory Keepers Anthologie range.

If you'd like to re-create this layout, simply grab some of these products from the Sassy Scrapper store, (they're all linked above), and follow these instructions...

1. Start with Anthologie Defined as the base of your layout.

2. Cut Anthologie Phraseology to 24.5cm x 16.5cm, and ink around the edges.

3. Cut 2 pieces of Anthologies Crochet Lace in green 16.5cm long, and adhere them to the Anthologie Phraseology paper, so only a small amount is showing at the top and bottom.

4. Adhere this piece to your base page, 3cm from the top, bottom and right hand sides.

5. Cut a strip of the wide pink lace from the Anthologies Crochet Lace, approx 35cm long. Adhere this on your layout, 4.5cm from the bottom of your page (for the bottom edge of the lace). Adhere the overhanging ends to the back of your layout.

6. From the Anthologie Everyday Moments paper, cut out the section that says 'Be You', and ink around the edges. Adhere to your layout 7cm from the bottom of the page, so that it covers the top of the pink lace.

7. Place a 7x5 photo onto your layout, so that the bottom edge of the photo is just above the quote on the patterned paper.

8. Add flowers to the sides of the photo as shown.

9. From the blue Anthologies Crochet Lace, make two bows, one larger than the other. Place the larger bow under your photo, (just under the quote on the patterned paper), and place the other bow at the bottom of your flower cluster.

10. Choose two of the Anthologies Layered Chipboard Words to place at the top of the flower cluster, inking around the edges beforehand.

11. Cut a small journalling spot from the Anthologie Everyday Moments paper and place on the right side of the photo.
And here are a couple of close ups...

I hope you enjoyed this little project! Have a great weekend :)

More gorgeous Prima ...

Hello again

Hope everyone is happy and well and staying warm this winter. It's icy cold here in Adelaide and School Holidays are in week one so we are enjoying a few days rugged up insie with the heater on!
Thats the perfect time to CREATE!!!!

I created another project with the gorgeous range from Prima, Natures Garden.

This is a little photo wallet made from Bazzill and the printed papers from Prima.

For the front of the wallet, I used the stunning flowers and flourishes from Natures Garden as well as an Imaginarium Designs butterfly just to finish it off.

All through the wallet, I have used the Natures Garden Chipboard Pieces 24 pk  but to make them fit better on each page so that the end product didnt end up too bulky, I took off a layer of chipboard befor sticking it down. This really helped with the size! All I did was take my craft knife and separated the layers! It's that easy!

I leave you to look over the photos of the pages!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget about the BLOG HOP!!!
You still have 5 days left to be in the running to win some great prizes!

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

A bit about me .....

Hello there

My turn today to introduce myself!
My name is Natalie May.
I am a 30 something mum to a gorgeous 9 year old daughter, Jessica {otherwise known as Happydaks}and a wife to a very supportive hubby.

I am a full time paper crafter, working in Adelaide's best Scrapbooking shop, Seriously Scrapbooking,  teaching around 15 classes a month and designing chipboard for Imaginarium Designs.
I am also an Intermediate Certified Copic Designer.

I have been a card maker for about 16 years and discovered Scrapbooking late 2006. It’s such a brilliant creative outlet, with no restrictions as to what you can do and VERY addictive! {but hey ... you already knew that!}

I don’t believe have a particular style - I let the paper guide me ...  I love to experiment and try new things ... and I create what my students are asking for too!   My theory is…. “ If it looks good – Stick it down!”

I love working off sketches and I am heavily influenced by all the amazing talent in this industry.

I love using a variety of techniques on my pages from dry and wet embossing, stamping & masking, Glimmermist, inking and more recently I have become addicted to my Cuttlebug again. I like to experiment with Gesso and Texture Paste and I have a very soft spot for chipboard.

I have been published in all 3 Australian Scrapbooking magazines and have recently been part of the Scrapware Design team as well as a couple of online DTs and currently I am on the Design Team for Imaginarium Designs Chipboard and have just finished with Once Upon A Sketch plus design kits for Blue Bazaar in my spare time!.

I have recently taught at a couple of Australian fairs and in the next 12months, have a couple of retreats and conventions coming up that I cant wait to teach at!

I love this industry … the opportunity to teach a new technique…. Meeting so many amazing people…..and to be able to CREATE everyday is quite a blessing.

You can see more of my bits & pieces on my blog .....www.happydaks.blogspot.com

Last week Olga showed off one of my pages introducing the gorgeous line from Kaiser, The Lake House.

Let me tell you a little more about this page I created using this line.

I love to use Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punches and I used 2 different ones to create this page.

The tip with these punches is to make sure you keep the instructions when you open the box as it gives you the measurements to give you a perfect punch all the way around!
Failing that, here are two images found on Pinterest.

The Kaiser papers are so very pretty.
I had no trouble creating with these! It's all about the fussy cutting and the layering. Think about other ways you can use the papers - you can create so many different looks!
I also used some gorgeous blooms & leaves from Green Tara, A Prima bling flourish and some chipboard from Imaginarium Designs.

So thats enough from me today!

Be sure to pop back on the weekend ... we are having our very first BLOG HOP!!!!
Lots of gorgeous projects, amazing prizes and giveaways!
Stay tuned for more info soon.
