March Guest Designer - Joanne Bain

Friday Greeting!!

I am thrilled that Olga asked me to return to be a Guest Designer here for the month of March.

Here is a little about me...

My name is Joanne but my friends call me Jo. I am a very proud mother of 2 (the best kids in the world I am slightly bias) and I am happily married to my best friend and have been for 19 years. He is the best husband a girl could ask for and is very supportive of my need to scrapbook. We live in sunny Queensland on the northern side of Brisbane along with our 2 dogs and more pet birds then I can count. I have been a scrapbooker for 12 years and I would say I am slightly addicted to this craft...lol. I have tried my hand at digital designing and scrapbooking but I much prefer the look, touch and feel of paper.

My preferred scrapping preference is 12 x 12 layouts and creating off the page, but I do enjoy altering items and making the odd card. I am not locked into a specific scrapping style, as I am happy to give anything a go. I would describe my style as structured full of detail and dimension, with lots of layers and fussy cut paper cutting if the papers have a pattern that allows me to do so.

Presently I design for Kaisercraft, Manor House Creations & Bella Paperie.

My Blog - Scrappin For Me

So this month Olga created a stunning kit for me to work with, the main feature being the Prima Engraver Collection. This collection is stunning!! I love the clocks and the neutral browns....aaahhh really enjoying working with this kit.

So today I have a layout to share.

"TIME" layout by Joanne Bain

Materials used - Prima Engraver Collection - Calligraphy, Cartouche, Atlas, Arcade, Prima Fabric #564575 Flowers Light Brown & #565602 Daisies. Twiddleybitz Roam Clock Large With Hands, Kaisercraft Pearls Blush.

All products are available from the Sassy Scrapper Shop.

I cut the Twiddleybitz clock into three pieces and disgarded the solid the centre piece. This allowed me to use it more as a frame. I chose to leave the chipboard natural as it worked nicely with this collection. To give this page a feminine feel I added the Blush pearls to the frame.

As I have a love for dimension I fussy cut the clocks and other circular pieces from the patterned paper and created lots of layers. I then topped with the beautiful Prima flowers.

All elements on this page have been hand cut, call my crazy but i love how it turned out.

Well thats all for today but I will be back next week with another project to share.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Joanne
