Sealed with a kiss - Creating 'wax' seals

Hello Sassy Friends!
It feels like it's been ages since I shared something with you... the holidays have been wonderful and we are feeling rested and relaxed, ready (well, almost!) for the chaos of the new school year which will be upon us next Tuesday.
There are some totally gorgeous new embossing powders in the shop
and I wanted to show you how easy it is to create this card with a faux 'wax seal'.
The card has been made to look like an envelope. Instead of folding a large piece of paper, I have deconstructed an actual envelope and cut only the folding pieces
so I could save lots of this sheet of beautiful Webster's Pages paper.

I arranged these onto a basic cardstock card and stitched
some detail onto some of the pieces.

Creating the 'seal'

Next, I popped some Gold Ranger embossing powder onto a scrap of cardstock.
(If you have embossing enamel, you would probably need to use slightly less, as it's made for deep impressions.)

Measure the amount you will use based on the size of the stamp you are going to be using to create your 'seal'. You will need quite a thick layer, so don't
be afraid to pile it on a bit!

Heat the powder from the bottom so the powder doesn't go flying off.
This method takes a little bit of time, but the result will be worth it!

Once your powder has completely melted, working quickly, press your stamp into the hot melted powder. Don't worry, this will not damage your stamps.
If the impression is not exactly perfect, you can easily reheat it and try again.
(You may need to top a bit of extra powder over the top if so.)

Remove the stamp after a second or two and this is the result... beautiful!

I cut my seal out around the thicker edge and adhered it with some foam tape
onto my card to 'seal' my 'envelope'.

I hope you will give this fun technique a try. Be sure to tag us @sassyscrappers so we can see your gorgeous creations!

Till next time!

Chantalle
