Pretty Hot!

Hello Sassy friends and happy Friday to you!

Can you believe (sorry to rub it in!!) that Brisbane is set for a scorching 27 degrees early next week! I’m sure you will agree that we are lucky enough to enjoy some of the best ‘Winter’ weather in the world. My neighbour’s children were swimming the other week - which I thought was a bit crazy - but it really got me looking forward to the warm Summer days ahead! I created this page a little while ago and haven’t had a chance to share it with you yet. Lots of Heidi Swapp Minc magic!

Foil can be so tricky to shoot! If I change the exposure too much, you really don't see the beautiful shine. So, excuse the darker image, but this way, you can see how gorgeous the gold, teal and hot pink is!

Now you might laugh at me, but I think the Minc packaging is pretty awesome. In fact, there are a couple of little bits on this layout that are cut from the foiled examples shown on the front of the pack! Gold foil is just too good to go the recycling bin ;)

Our Mincs come with a 10% off Minc Accessories Voucher which is valid for 3 months from date of delivery of the machine. A great excuse to spoil yourself with this amazing machine!

Thanks so much for popping in today - have a wonderful weekend!

Cards with Anita Bownds

Hi..Anita Here
This week at I've created cards
using some of the patterned paper from Bella blvd just add colour
The first card I created I was thinking about our moodboard for this month

I absolutely loved this heart paper
I backed it on some red cardstock and
I got out my fiskars lace border punch and punched each top and bottom

I fussy cut some cute flowers from another bit of patterned paper from Bella blvd collection
I was thinking a cluster of 3 so I added a little heart chipboard

And using the heidi swapp die cut word lovely as my sentiment

Just has to add some chipboard to the bottom of the card

And for my second card I added the we are memory keepers vellum over my whole white card

And machine stitched the seem so it really could be a mini book card
I die cut a Polaroid frame from one of the just add colour patterned papers and added some

chipboard and stickers from the just add colour sticker sheet

Fun with Summer Vibes - Simple Stories

Hello Sassy Scrappers.  Leonie back today with another bright and warm page with the
I just adore the base page on this layout the bright sunflare and bokeh effects are just too gorgeous!

I kept it fairly simple as I didn't want to obscure the lovely paper and the fun photo I wanted to use.
Some simple clustering scattered over the page using the 'bits and pieces' pack and the sticker sheet.
I added a few drips of brown ink, but really I was so happy with how this paper worked with my photo that I didn't need anything else.

I made a circular feature from the arrows in the pack to highlight and draw the viewers eye to the photo.  That and the touch of wood grain in some papers and the brown ink brought out the natural tones of the river and trees in the photo.
And that was it page done!  I'm loving how easily I'm getting photo's and memories recorded with
this collection.

Cheers Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Project Life | Week 21...

Hey there Sassy Friends! Welcome to Project Life Monday! Today I am sharing my Week 21 and I think I might be developing a deeper love and appreciation for simplicity.

I'm also beginning to think Simple Stories created Summer Vibes to purposely make pocket pages easy for the Project Lifer. Their gorgeous pre made journaling and filler cards have seriously done all the work for me this week!!! And if anyone needs a quick solution for just getting pages "done", then I highly recommend looking at this collection; especially the Summer Vibes Sn@p cards.

After filling my pockets with this week's photos, I shuffled through the multitude of journaling cards that come in the pack, both 4x6 and 3x4, and added the colour matching ones to the remaining pockets.  You might notice I focused in on the bright, happy yellow! *grin*

My repetition element for week 21 are circles.  I even managed to stylise my journaling with my typewriter, into a circle shape and then cut it out to adhere to the 4x6 card.

My subtitle even has a few circles in it! I deliberately chose to leave the white pieces of the sticker alphabet with the letters to allow it to stand out against the background journaling card.

The fun elements from the Summer Vibes Bits & Pieces team up beautifully with anything you add to your pockets! They are most definitely an advantage for a project lifer looking to complete pages quickly.

On page two the Sn@p cards have provided me with the perfect space for both my weekly title and journaling.  Adding a few layers from the Summer Vibes Expression Sticker Sheet is all that is needed for impact.

Finally, my filler cards have also been left relatively simple.  On the pink 3x4 journaling card, I've machine stitched a speech bubble die cut from the Bits & Pieces ephemera pack, directly to it. I've used grey thread  rather than white for noticeable dimension.

This camera shaped 3x4 card has also been left as is. I adore its shape and it works well on the page behind (Week 22) so I haven't added anything more to the pocket. Simple is good! *wink*

Also in the Sn@p cards are these gorgeous folded library pockets.  It was ideal to hold movie tickets and any other ephemera pieces that were meaningful during this week. All I added were the journaling strips to help share the story of why I held onto these items.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope I have shared a little inspiration on how to encourage you to project life quickly and efficiently with simple but beautiful journaling cards.
