Advent calendar with Kat

Hello everyone. Happy Tuesday. I'm thrilled to be back as the guest designer for November.

Today I’m sharing an idea for using the super cute stickers from the Simple Stories Claus & Co sticker sheets and leftover scraps from other projects. I thought the number stickers would be perfect for making a DIY advent calendar for the upcoming Christmas countdown.

To make the mini envelopes I first created a large square envelope with an envelope punch board and then scanned it with my Scan n Cut machine. I resized the image to fit 9 envelopes on a 30 x 30cm sheet and cut them from kraft cardstock. I then scored the fold lines and used some double-sided tape to secure the flaps.

I decorated the envelopes using leftovers from other projects, including scraps of paper from the Simple Stories Claus & Collection and leftover die cuts from the Bits and Pieces pack, and phrase stickers from the sticker sheets

To finish the advent calendar I added a number sticker to each envelope and pegged them to some lines of twine with mini wooden pegs.

These mini envelopes would be perfect for filling with surprises for the little ones in your family - chocolate coins, pieces of Lego, parts from a jigsaw puzzle or clues for a treasure hunt.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
