Project Life Monday | December Filler Cards..

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome to the final step by step class for November. Today we are going to create our own Fringed Christmas Tree embellishment to fit perfectly into a 3”x4” pocket! I have used the super cute October Afternoon | Under the Tree collection, along with Kelly Purkey clear stamps and Hero Arts Ombre ink. Let’s get started!

step 1: Trim a 3”x4” piece of smooth white cardstock and stamp a brick wall pattern using the Kelly Purkey | Deck the Halls clear stamps and Hero Arts ombre ink. See instructions here.

step 2: Using the October Afternoon | Under the Tree collection, select 4 -5 different patterned papers. Keep in mind you can use the reverse side too.

step 3: Trim a piece of cardstock into a rectangle 2”x3.5”. Mark the middle on one of the short ends and trim the sides to create a tall triangle.

step 4: Layer the individual patterned paper strips one at a time, across the cardstock triangle. Trim the edges of the paper strip to match the cardstock shape.

step 5: Using a good pair of scissors, snip the lower edge of the paper strip multiple times to create a fringe. Take care not to cut across the entire length of the paper strip.

step 6: As each paper strip is completed, adhere them to the cardstock. Brush the fringe gently to create dimension and interest. Cover the entire cardstock triangle with paper fringe strips.

step 7: Adhere the completed triangle to the 3”x4” cardstock background that was prepared in step 1.

step 8: For added interest, flick the completed card with black paint.
