Play | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for some inspiration each Friday!

I have been working with the Whimsical collection for a few weeks now so my embellishments are starting to get a little bit low. Using a cut file on a page is a great way to use more of the papers to even out the ratio a bit more! I only used a few embellishments as most of the work for this page is done with the patterned papers backing the cut file.

Once the cut file was backed with different patterned papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad, I put craft foam on the underside so when it was adhered, it would create shadows and dimension. I added a few small embellishments to some of the tops of the flowers in the cut file but kept most of the embellishing around my photo to draw your eye towards the photo.

I tucked a few of the green leaves from the ephemera pack on the outside as well as the inside of the cut file, I love how these look as the cut file has just flowers, these leaves were perfect to add. On the right of my photo, I tucked in one of the die-cut flower clusters and I layered my title, 'Play' on top of the photo plus the cute puffy sticker that says, 'Love This'. I thought those super cute strawberries looked pretty at the bottom of my photo also!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to purchase any 6' x 6' paper pad from the Sassy store and try out a layout like this one!

Happy creating!

Pocket Pages | Elle's Studio | Agnus Kasprzak

Hi again :) I'm back with another pocket page share using a fun mix of products from the Elle's Studio All My Heart collection from the store.

Continuing on from my January post, I am documenting the remainder of the month with similar products and photo placement to give the month a good sense of flow.

I have once again added a bit of textured detail with the adorable Falling for You 6x6" stencil and over a wood grain paper background from a previous collection. This time adding a couple of stamped hearts before applying the texture paste

I loved the blue pattern from the 6x6" Paper Stack and used it with a portion of one of the journal cards from the January Kit to help me record the details from the adjoining photo.

I again used wood veneer accents throughout my pages to help tie everything together and was very happy with how the reverse side of my wood confetti pocket from my previous post worked on this page.

I positioned the wooden elements in a visual triangle on the next page to help lead the eye across the page and used a few pops of blue in the same way.

As much as I loved all the colours in this collection, I was happy that it also features various black and white accents to break things up.

Much as you would attach tags or ephemera to your art journals, I used a couple of strips of washi tape to create a tip-in on the outside of my page protector to attach an extra photo. The photo is simple adhered with two strips of washi on either side (the reverse side is secured to the back of the photo with a layer of patterned paper).

I changed up the vertical placement of one of the sayings from the Happy Heart Stamp Set with a few snips of my scissors and like that it allowed me to stamp the text in a horizontal position.

and speaking of stamping, I used the fun dot pattern to dress up a couple of wood veneer hearts.

Using a mix of patterns from the 6x6" Paper Stack was an easy way to create a pocket to hold our movie tickets. I dressed up the front of the pocket with an assortments of tags, stamps and stickers.

January was quite a busy month so I cut down one of my Design A page protectors to create a 6x12" insert to hold extra photos.

Again using simple paper layers to create a pocket for a journal tag.

Finishing things off with a simple black and white shipping tag
and a pop of colour over a textured heart background for an easy filler card.

Happiness | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for some inspiration each Friday!

This week I wanted to try adding some paper fringing! I have had my fringing scissors for about 2 years and have never used them until now! They work terrific! First, I cut out a large heart shape from plain white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo machine.

Because I only have the 6' x 6' paper pad to work with and the heart was larger than 6' x 6' I had to cut out 2 strips of each paper I was using in order for the fringing to reach across the entire heart shape. I arranged them in a rainbow order and overlapped each one slightly. Once they were adhered on the back side, I then flipped it over and lifted up some of the fringing.....just look at all that awesome texture!

I added a drawn border around the outline of the heart to emphasize it more, I also added that zigzag sticker strip to the bottom left of the heart, I like how it goes with the fringing with its zig zag edge. My photo was framed with the super cute heart frame from the ephemera pack. I used craft foam underneath the photo and frame to add even more dimension.

I embellished my page with a tone on tone look and tucked a die cut flower on the right of the photo, I love how the butterflies look on this page too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to purchase any 6' x 6' paper pad from the Sassy store and try out a layout like this one!

Happy creating!

You Make Me Smile | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for some inspiration each Friday!

This week I wanted to incorporate some hand stitching on my page. I started sketching a flower shape onto white cardstock and then on the inside of the hand stitching I made a small slit in the paper to be able to tuck the die cut flowers into. I pierced holes along the design of the sketch and then stitched my heart away!

It's best to get the stitching part done first and I will admit, it did take me a while as it was a new kind of stitch that I had never tried before. Its called chain link stitch and it took me a little bit to get the hang of it. I chose the golden colour to enhance some of the gold pieces in the flowers. I used 4 strands of the embroidery thread.

Once the stitching was all done, it was time to adhere my photo down and embellish the page. The next step was to get the flowers tucked into the slit on the left how I liked them. I used the whole packet of ephemera flowers except for the leaves. I used the whole bottom section of the packet for this one page! I bent some of them up to add dimension and also adhered some with foam tape too.
You can see in the photo above that it created lovely shadows and dimension. I kept the right hand side fairly simple with mainly just my photo popped up on some craft foam and a few small embellishments added around the photo.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to purchase any 6' x 6' paper pad from the Sassy store and try out a layout like this one!

Happy creating!
