Leanne | Father's Day Cards...

Hello Friends! It's never too early to be organised, right?! And with Father's Day just around the corner... well, okay... we have another month up our sleeves, but still... Organisation, right?! *grin* I thought I might get on board with the awesome Fancy Pants Designs | Good Fellows collection and create three super quick Father's Day cards.

The base of each of these cards has been created using one 12x12 piece of white cardstock. I trimmed the cardstock at 8" and then trimmed the 8"x12" piece in half at 6". Fold each card base in half.

Using the left over pieces from your Good Fellows kit and the mini paper pad, decorate and embellish the base cardstock.
Card 1.

Trim the Good Fellows | Big Fella to 3.75"x5.75" and adhere to the card base. Layer with a piece of paper from the mini paper pad trimmed to 3.5"x5.5". Using the "Father Figure" cut apart on the Good Fellows | So Strong patterned paper, center at the top of the inner layer on the card. Fill the lower part of the card with left over patterned paper (trimmed to 3" in width). Embellish the card with Ephemera Die-Cuts.

Card 2. 

The same layering principle applies to the second card. Trim paper from the mini paper pad to create layers. Using the leftover strips of patterned paper create a three wide banners. Add the "Happy Father's Day" banner from the Ephemera Die-Cuts and complete the card with a few puffy dot stickers.

Card 3.

The final card has been created using the 4"x12" cardstock base. Add strips of patterned paper next to each other and adhere directly to the card base. Embellish with a metal die-cut on the silver foil paper and layer with a banner from the ephemera die-cuts.

And there we have it! Three simple cards all created in under 10 minutes!

Leanne | Good Fellows Layout...

Hello Sassy Friends! It's Leanne here today, sharing another fun layout created from the Fancy Pants Designs collection | Good Fellows. I've been happily playing with the mini paper pad in particular this month and this layout is no exception. Check out what I've created with the left over bits and pieces of my kit. Today, I've focused on the title.
"Life As A Boy"

To create this title, I've used my Silhouette Portrait (or Cameo) to cut simple alphabet letters. The font I used was Arial Unicode MS. To make the letters wider I used the off set tool in the silhouette software.

Next I cut strips of patterned paper in various widths.

Using an off cut of cardstock, big enough to adhere to the back of the layout and cover the negative space of the silhouette cut file, I started adhering the strips of paper on an angle.

Finally, the excess paper strips are trimmed and the diagonal paper strip block is placed behind the cut file.

The remainder of the layout came together quite quickly, documenting boys and face paint antics! Thanks for visiting and don't forget all the product used here today, can be found in the shop..x

Leanne | Good Fellows Layout...

Happy Friday Friends! It's Leanne here to day to share with you, another creative project using the new Fancy Pants Good Fellows collection! Today I've put together a simple 8.5x11 scrapbook page using the Good Fellows 6x6 mini paper pad. Of course, I've used other fun coordinating embellishments from the collection to help colour match and enhance the story, but the strips of paper on this layout have been disguised to work as a larger piece than it was intended for! If that makes sense! *grin*
Here's what I created... 
"Happy Cake Day"

I am loving the versatility with this paper collection. And, it's definite masculine appeal doesn't have to be restricted to the humble Father's Day project. For this page, I've created a birthday theme. Something to celebrate the boys!

As already mentioned, the paper strips have been trimmed from the mini paper pad. The join has been hidden beneath the photo and the die cut ephemera paper pieces.  

The paper fringe (something that is trending right now) was also created from the mini paper pad. To recreate this look yourself, trim a 2x6 paper strip and score a line down the middle length. Using your scissors, snip intervals of paper up to the score line, along the length. Slip the uncut edge beneath another paper strip.

To add depth to some of the die cut clusters, mount one or two piece with foam tape.

Complete your layout by creating your own kraft tag (kraft paper found in the mini paper pad) and type/journal the details on it to slip beneath your photo. The silver foil paper has been used with a Big Shot die and added as part of the title alphas.

Leanne | 4"x4" Mini Album...

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome to another step by step tutorial for creating fun, little mini albums! Today I am sharing a 4"x4" accordion binding mini, created using the new in store Fancy Pants Good Fellows collection. If you are a conservative scrapper or on a budget, this type of mini album is perfect for using the 6x6 mini paper pad. The only other supplies needed are a piece of leftover cardstock and few embellishments - die cuts & puffy dot stickers. Even the kraft paper comes from the mini paper pad!

This week I will share the construction phase, while next week I will share the details inside the album.

step 1. Gather supplies and trim two (2) pieces of kraft patterned paper (from the mini paper pad) to 4x4. From the off cuts trim a 2x4 piece. Score a line along the 4" length off the 2x4 off cut at 1/2" on both sides. This piece is the reinforcing for the mini book binding.

step 2. Using a leftover piece of 10x3.5 cardstock (any colour is sufficient as it is hidden) score lines down the 4" length, at 1" intervals.

step 3. Trim ten (10) 4x4 squares from the paper pad. Save the excess 2x4 pieces.

step 4. Starting with the inner pages of the mini, adhere the 4x4 squares back to back, ensuring the peaks of the cardstock accordion are secured between each pair.

step 5. Leave the outside covers until last.

step 6. Adhere the front and back covers to the inner pages of the mini album. Using the scored binding reinforcement we prepared earlier, wrap around the outside covers and adhere.

step 7. Using the excess 2x4 mini paper pad patterned paper that we put aside, score a line down the 4" length middle of each.

step 8. Adhere each piece to the center fold of each page. This is not only decorative but also strengthens the mini album.

step 9. Front Cover: Trim a 3x3 paper piece from the mini paper pad, cut a shape from the middle and stitch around the outside edge.

step 10. Foam mount the 3x3 paper square and adhere to the front cover. Embellish with puffy dots and die cuts from the Good Fellows collection. I've added a small paper clip (Tim Holtz) to help keep the pages closed. Burnishing each score line well, will also prevent the mini from flipping open at this early stage. :)

designer note: I have also used the 4x4 cut apart piece from the Good Fellows So Strong 12x12 patterned paper as pages inside my album. This is only done to show an alternative option to the mini paper pad.
