Leanne | 4"x4" Mini Album...

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome to another step by step tutorial for creating fun, little mini albums! Today I am sharing a 4"x4" accordion binding mini, created using the new in store Fancy Pants Good Fellows collection. If you are a conservative scrapper or on a budget, this type of mini album is perfect for using the 6x6 mini paper pad. The only other supplies needed are a piece of leftover cardstock and few embellishments - die cuts & puffy dot stickers. Even the kraft paper comes from the mini paper pad!

This week I will share the construction phase, while next week I will share the details inside the album.

step 1. Gather supplies and trim two (2) pieces of kraft patterned paper (from the mini paper pad) to 4x4. From the off cuts trim a 2x4 piece. Score a line along the 4" length off the 2x4 off cut at 1/2" on both sides. This piece is the reinforcing for the mini book binding.

step 2. Using a leftover piece of 10x3.5 cardstock (any colour is sufficient as it is hidden) score lines down the 4" length, at 1" intervals.

step 3. Trim ten (10) 4x4 squares from the paper pad. Save the excess 2x4 pieces.

step 4. Starting with the inner pages of the mini, adhere the 4x4 squares back to back, ensuring the peaks of the cardstock accordion are secured between each pair.

step 5. Leave the outside covers until last.

step 6. Adhere the front and back covers to the inner pages of the mini album. Using the scored binding reinforcement we prepared earlier, wrap around the outside covers and adhere.

step 7. Using the excess 2x4 mini paper pad patterned paper that we put aside, score a line down the 4" length middle of each.

step 8. Adhere each piece to the center fold of each page. This is not only decorative but also strengthens the mini album.

step 9. Front Cover: Trim a 3x3 paper piece from the mini paper pad, cut a shape from the middle and stitch around the outside edge.

step 10. Foam mount the 3x3 paper square and adhere to the front cover. Embellish with puffy dots and die cuts from the Good Fellows collection. I've added a small paper clip (Tim Holtz) to help keep the pages closed. Burnishing each score line well, will also prevent the mini from flipping open at this early stage. :)

designer note: I have also used the 4x4 cut apart piece from the Good Fellows So Strong 12x12 patterned paper as pages inside my album. This is only done to show an alternative option to the mini paper pad.

Leanne | 4x4 Mini Album Part III

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome to Part III of my We R Memory Keepers mini album share! Today I will share the last few pages and all the in betweens of my beach themed mini! Starting with this super cute Candid Card from the Bella Blvd Molly collection. Not only does it have an anchor on it to reinforce my fun beachy photos, but the colour scheme works perfectly! Yay!

The reverse side of the candid card, reveals a cute heart pattern which I have left completely unembellished! eeek!

On the next few pages I've used two full 4x4" photos and the Hello Gorgeous Mixed Bag paper embellishments from My Mind's Eye.

The triangle banner stretches across white space in my photo and the "he said", "she said" paper dies have been placed to line up in a similar position on each photo.

The following pages have a small kraft paper bag insert. An embellishment from the Mixed Bag has been attached directly to the front, while a small tag has been slipped into the bag itself.

Beneath the bag is a final layer of Bella Blvd clear transparency.

From my stash, I've layered a Dear Lizzy Serendipity Watercolor word onto the outside of the pocket page. I've left it raw, as I love the brightness of the word against the darkness in the photo.


I once again added a few Fancy Pants Happy Place Brag Cards between the pockets, using similar colours from the tags to coordinate with the file card.

My final pocket page was filled with fun photos of my boys & niece. And one pocket was used just for embellishment purposes.

4x4 Mini Album | Part II

Hello Sassy Friends! Welcome back to Part II of my beach themed WeRMemoryKeepers 4x4 mini album! The soft colours from both the Maggie Holmes Bloom and My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous collections complemented my photos so well, I was doing a happy dance! All the elements came together way too easily.

As I shared last week, I once again added a few Fancy Pants Happy Place Brag Cards between the pockets and embellished both the front and reverse sides of them with simple elements from my stash - Dear Lizzy Serendipity Watercolor words...

and ...On the back I've fussy cut flowers from the Hello Gorgeous Ashley paper and added a pennant banner from the Hello Gorgeous Mixed Bag die cuts. A label sticker is the ideal spot to add the date from a roller stamp.

The mini 2x2 pockets had coordinating patterned paper added next to a cute photo and keeps the album from becoming too cluttered.

The next two pages have a clear transparency inserted to create that "peek-a-boo" effect. The die doily, cut from cardstock is layered with an paper die cut from the Hello Gorgeous Mixed Bag. The ampersand reminded me of the letter "E". E is for Ethan! LOL! My boy posing in the photo!

Also from the hello Gorgeous Mixed Bag are the fold-over tabs, which I've adhered directly to the outside of the pocket pages. I love the interactive element it gives to my little mini!

Finally, the last part of the mini I am sharing with you today, is a 4x4 photo collage. I've added these types of photos to my album because not only do they match the actual 2x2 mini pocket pages and back onto the former 4x4 Instagram photo, but they are a lot easier to create - less trimming involved and more album completion being upheld! *wink*
