Shades of Summer

Hello Sassy Friends!

 

Another week has simply flown and I'm back already, to share this layout 

created with Simple Stories 'Good Day Sunshine'. 

 The gorgeous collection celebrates all things sunny. It has me dreaming 

of warmer days (especially with my boys suffering a nasty flu-like 

virus at the moment!) I mention all the things we are looking 

forward to, like longer days and watermelon!

Some rainbow stitching coordinates perfectly 

with the shades and I had 'neat' fun with stamping splats rather 

than risking real ones going wrong! Lol

 

It's an easy concept and lots of fun. Erin helped me sort ephemera 

and stickers into the various colours - scrapping is educational too! ;)

Anita here sharing my take on the lovely moodboard challenge for this month

Here is my take on the moodboard

I painted my white cardstock with modelling paste and let it dry then I used a plastic card and mixed a bit of sea breeze with modelling paste and smeared it over my background in random spots and did the same with a bit of pink 

And using a ScrapFX stencil with a mixture of pink paint and modelling paste 

Then using another stencil I sponged ink lightly in random spots on the background 

Then using a paint brush and modelling paste I lightly painted over the whole background blending it in and giving it a lighter look then I added a few bits of texture using a stamp

Shimmerz Inklingz, and Teresa Collins Designs - Technique Video

Hello and welcome to my Wednesday post.  Leonie here. 

 You may have seen the page below as my take on our fabulous August mood board.

I really had some fun creating the background using Shimmerz 

Inklingz and Texturez (Available HERE).

  

So for this weeks' project 

I decided to scrap-lift my previous page and create a video tutorial to show our readers just how I 

went about creating the background on both pages.

You'll see some of the Teresa Collins Studio Gold collection on this page.

I just adore those 4x4 cards in the WeR - Albums Made Easy pack, you can see more of 

the designs in the video.

So here it is, I hope you enjoy watching and pick up a hint or two.

Project Life August Kit Reveal...

Hello Sassy Friends!  Today I am sharing with you some details from the new August Project Life Kit reveal.  It is a lovely mix of turquoise, soft green and fresh whites!  We've highlighted our colour palette with pops of vibrant gold and pink and then tied it all together with a neutral combination of black and beige.    

The Teresa Collins patterned papers have come to the party and added an extra oomph with the touches of gold glitter!!  I also love that the wood veneer embellishments, cork stars and gorgeous enamel dots, compliment the kit as a whole, allowing you to create layers of goodness on your PL spread.

Finally, the alpha sticker sheets gives you plenty of options when it comes to creating and designing your title pockets!  I love to mix & match sizes and fonts!  Don't you?

Olga..xxx    •••   Hello Sassy friends!   I'd love to show you a bit more of my layout using inspiration from this month's moodboard. I'm lucky enough to be creating with another of my personal favourites this month, Simple Stories. With it's gorgeous brights, Good Day Sunshine is just the type of collection needed to remind us that summer is not too far away!

Although we have been together for 19 years, my DH and I will be celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks time. So much has happened since then, time really has flown. (Does that mean we must be having fun?)

Pretty much everything in the moodboard is present in some way on this layout. I have used spray glue on the edge of the pink cardstock and dipped it in pink glitter.

The cone's texture inspired this embossed pattern, which I created with a Tim Holtz folder and some divine cork print paper from the Simple Stories 24/7 collection.
