Say hello to Dad!

Hello again Sassy Friends!

TGIF, oh yeah! The sun is shining and I am certainly full of the joys of spring.

A warm welcome to our new followers!
We hope you will find something to inspire and delight along the way.

It's a big day for all the Dad's out there on Sunday. I've had loads of fun creating some goodies for my hubby from me, the kids using Carta Bella's 'Hello Again' collection.

To start off, I've made a sweet treat card for the chocoholic in my life. I saw something like it on Pinterest recently, and thought it would be the perfect card for him!!

Now I don't have specific sizes planned out, but I've taken a few pics as I went
to give you an idea of how to put it together

1. Depending on the size of the chocolate slab, take a sheet of 12x12 paper and, starting at the corner of the paper, start wrapping around the edge of the box.
(I've used a bone scorer for a crisp edge.)

2. Trim off the excess at the top and adhere the little flap.

3. Again, using the scorer, make 2 more folds near the far edge of the box

4. You could continue to wrap the rest of the card stock around the remainder of the box,
or if you want to create a flap to open, keep the rest of your paper
and trim a thin section to cover the top of the box. Adhere.

5. Wrap the 'flap' over to 'close' the card.

Here's a side view so you can see how it works.
I've used a embossing powder with mist for a resist effect on the front, along with some super cute mini tag stickers. The black sticker works to keep the front on the card closed.
The inside of the card reveals a little mini quiz and the "Power of the Remote" for the day!

Next up, is a little mini album...
It's a very simple concept, where the top cover folds into the flap.
(I haven't done any step by steps for the this one, but if you want to know more,
please pop us an email and I can put something down for you!)
I've added a few 4x6 photo sleeves, but it's not a necessity.

If you're going to have a go at some Father's Day (or any!) crafting, tag us in your pics - we love to see what you create! Instagram #sassyscrappers or pop in to our Facebook page!

And if you can steal away some time (while the sport takes over the telly, lol)
why not have a go at our cool sketch challenge which closes at midnight Saturday.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend!

Love Card

Hi There!

Shell Carman here today. The sun is shining how exciting!! Spring is just around the corner & it has inspired me to create a soft, romantic card to celebrate the end of Winter!!

I have used the softer colours of the Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose collection again mixed with a little red & black to give a more vintage look.

I have cut some vellum paper to size & embossed it to give a nice dimensional appearance. I then stitched the vellum onto the Dearest paper then adhered to the cardstock base. This way the stitching won't go through to the other side of the cardstock making it look messy from behind. It also allowed me to tuck the ends of the lace under before stitching.

Products Used
Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose Dearest paper
Kaisercraft Collectables
Kaisercraft paper blooms Dusty Pink
Kaisercraft mini blooms fire red
lace
vellum
embroidery thread

You can find Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose in the shop here

The Story of Today

Hello Sassy Friends...

Hope you have all had a fantastic weekend.
Drama on the high seas has seen me 'in absentia' for a few days,
but I'm back and rearing to go!

Carta Bella 'Hello Again' is still on the menu and looking fab
next to my little mouse in these eye-watering glasses!
I've gone with a storybook theme after being inspired by the sweet October Afternoon tin pin. Busy pics and paper lend themselves well to simple arrangements. I've only used a couple of embellishments, yet the page has lots of action.
Enamel dots are so much fun and add such a slick finish.
I'm quite in love with my little storybook-style journalling. I searched for a blank book image, dropped it into a word processing programme and added my text. I then printed it off (twice) onto card stock and layered the one on top of the other, raising the pages with foam dots. To finish off, I've then 'spilled' lots of Heidi Swapp alphas onto the page.
Hope you have enjoyed today's post. I'll be seeing you again on Friday.
Have a fantastic week!

Be Bold.... Be Vibrant !!!!

Good Morning how are you all this Sunday morning? Myself, I am a little bit tired had a 12 hour crop yesterday and when ever I get home from these it takes forever fro my brain to switch off. I wish I could say it was from being productive but at the most I have only ever complete 3 layouts for the 12 hours..... one day I will change that but its great to go and socialize and talk to other adults instead of being interrupted every 2 mins cause you sat down lol.

Today I am sharing another layout using Prima's Sunrise Sunset range, and I wanted to make its a vibrant one for you this week.

See I told you it was vibrant but there's something nice about the pink and orange combination. And all I did was lift the colours from the pattern paper itself, I went over the top of the design and made colours really concentrated.

If you have singular flower layer some together to make a fuller more life like flower.

I also added a Crafters Workshop template on the page, just add a little texture paste and mist over the top with your Dylusions mist and bled the colours together.
