Hello dear Sassy friends!
Well I can't believe that this time of the year is already upon us. It feels like it was just the other day that I was sharing my 2014 album with you! This year, I'm keeping is simpler and smaller - both on the printing budget and on the desk space. I love how so many of the new Christmas lines co-ordinate beautifully. You can really go to town, mixing and matching! Let's dive straight in...
I will freely admit that I have longed for one of these gold insta albums for ages. I almost did a 4x4 one last year, but when I saw that incredible Pink Paislee album with the sequin star, I quickly changed my mind!
On the cover, I have used a wood grain print Simple Stories Claus & Co. chipboard frame. and on top of that, a red foiled Heidi Swapp Minc Poinsettia. These are a part of the new Christmas Minc range and are absolutely stunning. I've also used some Claus & Co. photo stickers as well as a deer cut from 'Oh What Fun' die cuttable foil/glitter paper pack along with some chipboard shapes, the word 'Noel' (also a metal die) and finally a few glitter star stickers.
Focusing on the spine, you'll notice I have created a little faux wax seal. To learn more about this technique, you can click here to see a tutorial. A couple tiny star photo stickers and we're ready to get documenting!
Opening up to Day one... I've embellished simply with a gold 'Oh What Fun' countdown number and a super sweet 'Word Jumble' sticker which I have stitched on with gold metallic thread.
For inserts, I've got a combination of 4x4 and 2x2 photo sleeves. I was pretty chuffed when I realised the Claus & Co. Sn@p pack fits perfectly inside these pockets! The cards have red foil detail which adds a lovely festive glimmer to the album. Plus they are double sided, so you don't get any blank spots within the sleeves.
To add a bit of interest amongst the album inserts, I've also created some dividers using 'Oh What Fun' 6x6 pad. I've made them the same as the finished size of the 4x4 sleeves and punched them at the same intervals. They make a nice break from photo-heavy content.
On Day 2, I've used the paper pad, a Minc Christmas tag which I've foiled with green. On top of that I've got the word 'Cheer' (from the countdown pack mentioned earlier) and a bit of stamping.
Check out these ultra adorable christmas light stickers. I picked them up at my local Dollar store. They go perfectly with the lush green foil tag.
Overleaf, a star die cut and some Claus & Co stickers.
Day 3: On the left, I've divided a 4x4 Sn@p card into 4 equal pieces.
On the right side, I've punched a few stars from the drool-worthy 'Oh What Fun' vellum paper pad and layered them before stapling together. You need to add this pad to your stash (if only for the black vellums alone!)
More Day 3: I've foiled another Minc Christmas tag with silver foil and used some Claus & Co. Fundamental cardstock stickers to accent the page.
I've machine stitched the little 2x2 pockets shut after filling with glitter. On top we've got a 'Oh What Fun' snowflake (countdown pack) and a Claus & Co. chipboard frame and sticker. These stickers also have the red foil finish.
Day 4: Using the words 'Joy' (countdown pack) and 'wonder' (stamp), I've let my title run across the pages. I was lucky enough to be able to attend a recent class with Louise Nelson which was wonderful fun.
More day 4: This was one busy day! That evening I attended my first Jamberry nail wrap party hosted by my friend, Gail. My DD and I got to spend some serious girl time together and both of us came hone with a gorgeous mani.
Products: Sn@p card, Oh What Fun 6x6 pad (divider) Claus & Co. sticker and Oh What Fun chipboard word 'Merry'. |
Day 5: Probably one of my favourite spreads so far. Loving that 'Oh What Fun' chipboard moose!
The divider was made with the 'Oh What Fun' 6x6 pad I mentioned, then there's a 'Claus & Co. frame, then Heidi moose and number 5 from the countdown pack. A teeny Expression sticker and a sparkle of thread finish it off.
More Day 5:
Products: Claus & Co. Sn@p cards, chipboard sticker and expression sticker. |
Day 6: The Claus & Co. Photo Stickers are my go-to at the moment. Fun and versatile, I've got them on photos, on my album cover and in my Carpe Diem Planner!
Products: Sn@p card, 'Oh What Fun' chipboard snowflake, Photo stickers, countdown number and 'Word Jumble' sticker |
Another personal favourite! Day 7 is sticking with red, white and black. I think there is 1 last 'Believe' metal die in the shop!!
Products: Sn@p Cards; Oh What Fun die, countdown number, chipboard house and word jumble sticker |
Day 8: I love the tone on tone of the word 'Falalala' on the charcoal spotted Claus & Co. paper. It's such a fun print with the contrasting red on the B side.
Products: Claus & Co. Sn@p card & stickers. 'Oh what Fun' Glitter paper, countdown number and chipboard word. |
I've popped a long story about this very taxing period, along with a 'feel better' drawing made for me by my daughter. I've mounted it onto some glitter stock so I didn't have to punch holes in the envelope (which I made using a WRMK Envelope Punch Board)
I hope I've inspired you to have a go at doing a December album. Getting set up with all the bits you might need takes a bit of time, but once you make a start, the rest falls into place a lot easier. Looking back on my albums from the previous two years is such a joy. We forget how much we cram into this busy month!
I'll be back next week to share the next 8 days with you. Until then,
Happy Creating!
Chantalle
