Tickety Tock

TGIF Sassy Friends! Time is just flying these days - nearly into March and so much inspiration in the store at the moment with the exciting arrivals of new CHA stock! The sentiments of Simple Stories 'Daily Grind' has inspired my project today...  a little friend on my desk to keep me on track!

When I saw the viewfinder piece in the Daily Grind ephemera pack, I knew I wanted to create with this Tim Holtz clock... but I wanted it to actually work!  So... I trotted off to the bargain shop in search of a cheap clock  that I could break down and use for parts!
This is where my DH came in! He removed the workings and placed them  into the heart of my shiny friend, who suddenly came to life!

Now, I could have some fun embellishing!

I've used mixed bits from the ephemera pack, some cardstock stickers, some enamel dots and some sn@p stickers and combined them with some circles  that I punched from a sheet of 'Daily Flair' paper.

Some twine and a die cut ephemera finish it off

Needless to say, it's a highlight on my desk :)

Get to the point...

Hello Sassy Friends and happy Friday to you all!  As you know, I am always thankful for the end of the week ;) Family activities on the menu and some time with my kidlets... but by the time Monday rolls around, my ears could do with a little break. My eldest is particularly chatty at the moment (wonder where he gets that from?! hehe) This layout, using Simple Stories 'Daily Grind' is dedicated to his, at times, non-sensical banter. He goes into the finest detail when recounting something he's just seen or heard. (Don't tell him, but sometimes, I actually zone out whilst he's talking and just nod and give a laugh at the end, hoping I got the message!)

This patterned paper immediately caught my eye for this theme. 

The busy-ness suits his storytelling perfectly!

Some of his little sayings scattered inside various speech bubbles. 

I've kept the design very simple, so it doesn't get drowned out by the pattern.

A few teensy gold Studio Calico star rubons for a bit of shine.

Wrote a letter to my love

Hello Sassy Friends and Happy Valentines Day to you! To those of you that partake in this day of all things gooey and sweet, here's hoping this post finds you very loved up indeed! Our February mood board challenge is the inspiration behind this layout using Simple Stories 'Daily Grind' collection and we'd love you to join us! Some of you may not know this, but my DH and I are high school sweethearts.  Some days this can be nightmare because we've known each other for so long, but most of the time, it's that exact knowing each other which makes us work. I have had him in my life, through some major ups and downs, for more than half my life!

This special layout celebrates some very sweet correspondence I dug out not too long ago. 

Little treasures written nearly 20 years ago! I look forward to sharing them with my children one day. 

I've scanned and sized them to fit in these mini Amy Tangerine 

vellum envelopes (one of which I embossed).

These AC chipboard thickers have won my heart! You can find some similar ones here.

Do you have some special romantic mementos tucked in a box, hidden in a cupboard somewhere? 

Take them out, photograph, scan, scrap and feel the love all over again!

Be Mine, Valentine...

Hello Sassy Friends! It's definitely been too long! Hopefully this post finds you all well  and settling back into the daily grind of everyday life.
