Let's ride into the sun

Hello Sassy Friends!

To those of you who are off to celebrate the Queen's Birthday weekend in style... enjoy!
As you may have seen, we also have a new moodboard for June. It's totally delightful and chock-full of inspiration!

Personally, I loved it and created the page below for the challenge this month.

The base is pretty average white cardstock, onto which I have stencilled and stamped over a gesso'd section. The reason I added gesso, was because I had hoped to soften the edges of the stencil work. It also provides a semi designated area, onto which I created the large grouping.

Here you can see what it looked like before I added paper layers...

I was very inspired by the organic elements in the board. The florals and also the script writing. Once I was happy with the amount of interest I had created with the stamping and misting, I began to add my elements like die cuts leaves, to build up the botanical theme.

There's even a bit of texture paste applied through a rose stencil under there!

Project Life | Mood Board Tutorial..

Hello Project Life Friends! It's Leanne here today and I am sharing three fun PL filler cards created with the Sassy Scrapper May mood board in mind!

May Moodboard Challenge

Let's get started!

The first card is a 4x6 pocket filler card. It is created from the gorgeous Craft Market Stitching Paper, stickers and a few pieces of Poolside ephemera.

step 1. Trim the Crate Paper Craft Market paper to 4"x6".
step 2. Trim the arrow border from the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine Lana paper and shorten the length to 6".
step 3. Adhere the arrow border strip to the lower edge of the 4x6 paper.
step 4. Using the gold glitter letters "S, U, N" from the Poolside ephemera pack, position above the arrow border to the left of the card.
step 5. Complete the word "Sunday" using the Twilight Poolside thickers.
step 6. Embellish the card with a banner sticker, speech bubble "hello" sticker and the pink & gold glitter ice-cream from the Poolside ephemera pack.

Sassy Supplies:

Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine | Lana Paper
Crate Paper Poolside | Ephemera Die Cuts
Pebbles Home Made | 6x12 accent stickers

The second  and third cards have been inspired by the white to navy ombre cake on the Moodboard. These 3x4 filler cards are even easier to make than the 4x6 card!

step 1. Trim the Pink Paislee Atlas Latitude paper to 3x4.  Trim the patterned paper on the diagonal starting at bottom left corner to top right.
step 2. Trim the "explore" 3x4 cut apart from the Pink Paislee Take Flight patterned paper. This card will form the base for your filler card.

step 3. Adhere the navy triangle of paper to the base card.
step 4. Trim the gold foil border strip from the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy Specialty paper to 3". Adhere to the lower edge of the filler card, covering the word "explore".
step 5. Using a tag shaped sticker, adhere to the right side of the filler card.
step 6. Finish by embellishing the card with a flower die cut from the ephemera pack, Simple Stories enamel dots and adding the weekly title with the Twilight thickers.

Simple Stories I Am | Enamel Dots

Pebbles Home Made | 6x12 accent stickers

step 1. Using the Pink Paislee Atlas Latitude paper as the 3x4 base, adhere the reverse side of the triangular off cut from the previous card, to the right.
step 2. Trim sentiment strips in blue/navy from the Poolside Admit One paper and the Rise & Shine arrow border strip.
step 3. Add the paper strips to the filler card, trimming edges where necessary.
step 4. Also add the navy "pool lockers" die cut from the ephemera pack at the bottom.
step 5. Complete the card with a few pink enamel dots.

Beautiful girl on a journey

Hi Sassy friends!

Woot, it's nearly the end of another busy week - yippee!

My stunning Niece shines in my moodboard page for this month. Anita has put together another cracker for March, which really got my creative juices flowing!

The brushstrokes in the board caught my eye straight away. I have created a 'cheats' brushed background using Pink Paislee stamps, some gold embossing powder and one thick slick of gold paint on a wide brush. The irony of it is, that one can hardly tell which gold is the paint and which is embossed!
Gold on the left is paint and gold on the right is Ranger embossing powder!
The feather is a die cut which I had in my stash. I have used some soft, diluted Twinkling H2O's over the top to tie it in with the colour palette.

Still obsessed with my metallic thread, messy stitching dots my page!

It's easy to create your own layered elements... In my cluster, I have used a gold die cut frame, a pantone swatch and a rose from a Maggie Holmes ephemera pack and stitched them together with my sewing machine, using top stitch thread for a defined line of stitching. The layers are then continued with some more die cuts (feather is New My Mind's Eye Niche), a Heidi Swapp glitter sticker, a wood veneer word and some expression stickers from the new Simple Stories collections which are in store now.

A couple of enamel dots, wood veneer and smatterings of Color Shine finish the page.

Thank you so much for stopping in. I can't wait to see what you create!

Have a great weekend!

XOXO - Feb moodboard

Hello Sassy Friends

Friday has come around again, I can't believe it! I hope this day finds you well and happy and looking forward to some crafty business this weekend :)

I'm sure you have seen our gorgeous new moodboard for February - so yum!
This is my layout based on the lush combo of pink, navy and golds.

There are loads of bits in the board to take inspiration from. I especially loved the large 'X' & 'O' and styled my page around these letters, which I cut out of the navy cardstock using my Silhouette. I have backed the top letters with some AC gold corrugated cardstock.

The bottom letters have a sheet of My Mind's Eye paper from the Jubilee collection. Unfortunately, this particular isn't available in the store, but you can create the same effect, easily yourself, using a heart stamp and some gold embossing powder!
Or you could back it with some gold printed vellum - there are some gorgeous options in the shop, like this one or these ones!

A bit of extra bling to finish the page off, with some Maggie Holmes glitter stickers, rhinestones, pearls, enamel dots and Color Shine mist drops.

We all hope you will be inspired to play along with us this month. Our January entries were so stunning - thank you to all who joined in!

Till next time

Chantalle x
