Beautiful girl on a journey

Hi Sassy friends!

Woot, it's nearly the end of another busy week - yippee!

My stunning Niece shines in my moodboard page for this month. Anita has put together another cracker for March, which really got my creative juices flowing!

 The brushstrokes in the board caught my eye straight away. I have created a 'cheats' brushed background using Pink Paislee stamps, some gold embossing powder and one thick slick of gold paint on a wide brush. The irony of it is, that one can hardly tell which gold is the paint and which is embossed!

Gold on the left is paint and gold on the right is Ranger embossing powder!

The feather is a die cut which I had in my stash. I have used some soft, diluted Twinkling H2O's over the top to tie it in with the colour palette.

 

 Still obsessed with my metallic thread, messy stitching dots my page!

It's easy to create your own layered elements... In my cluster, I have used a gold die cut frame, a pantone swatch and a rose from a Maggie Holmes ephemera pack and stitched them together with my sewing machine, using top stitch thread for a defined line of stitching. The layers are then continued with some more die cuts (feather is New My Mind's Eye Niche), a Heidi Swapp glitter sticker, a wood veneer word and some expression stickers from the new Simple Stories collections which are in store now.

A couple of enamel dots, wood veneer and smatterings of Color Shine finish the page.

Happy heart - Anita Bownds

  hi everyone,   This month I've created a moodboard with  orange,gold,pink,yellow and a touch of grey and black    I hope it inspires you to use some paints on your creations   

For my layout I used the Poppy's ,flowers and cake as inspiration 

I started off by using pink stripes and layering behind my photo.

I really wanted to add the Poppy's on my layout so I started by sketching them onto a bit of watercolour paper

After I had painted them with watercolours and when they where dry 

I cut them out and and arranged them on my layout 

Along with some flowers and leaves from crate paper 

I also created 2 flowers from velum and outlining them with stencil paint

I think they give the page a softer look

March Mood Board

Hello Sassy Scrappers, happy Wednesday to all our readers!

Leonie here today and it's my pleasure to reveal the March Mood board to you.

Design Team member Anita Bownds has once again

wowed us with this lush board to inspire our creativity.

Filled with soft warm colours, florals and watercolours

this mood board is a delight.

Lastly, here is my page.

I used the recently arrived in store Simple Stories range 'I Am'.

A great collection to match this board.

The colours of course inspired me along with the top centre image of the paint swipes.

I also pulled out an old stencil from my stash that had poppies on it and used it with some

graphite Prima art basics medium.

Simple Stories - I Am 

  

 

Project Life | Week Four...

Hi Sassy Friends! It's Leanne here today with another Project Life Monday and I am sharing my PL2015 Week Four | January 26 - February 1.    

 

For my spread this week, I've continued to use the Dear Lizzy Serendipity with touches of Amy Tangerine Stitched collections.

 

 

I love the beautiful colour combinations in these collections. And I certainly don't mind using pink ombre hues in pockets next to my boys! This week I have used the patterned papers to my advantage.  I have very few photos, surprising really, considering it was the first week back at school for the new year. But I did want to journal more about the emotions I was experiencing, with not only my youngest starting school, but my daughter becoming a senior in High School, my eldest son starting his High School journey and my middle son moving up into the middle school at Primary. It really was a gargantuan start to a school year and quite frankly, I needed more journaling than photos this week! My process for this spread was to date and document and use the patterned papers to draw attention to my stories.

My type writer was used sparingly.  I found I had too many words and could be more descriptive using the space allocated via my computer. I simply opened up a word document and adjusted the margins to the centimetre size I wanted my journaling to be printed out at. After I filled the space with my text, I inserted a rectangular frame around the outside. The frame borders were then altered to show as dots rather than a fine line. 

 

 

On page two, I've combined several photos into one image.

 

 

But the hero pieces on this spread are the pockets with journaling. For my weekly review, I once again used the computer but highlighted in bold, the day and date text. Each journaling section was printed directly onto white cardstock.

 

 

As it was the first week back at school for 2015, I have included a fun photo tradition. Each year I take an individual photo of my kids in their school uniforms. This year was significant (and expensive!!) as we needed three new sets of uniforms!

 

The clear stickers from the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection were ideal to highlight this photo without covering any details.

 

 

To complete my spread for the week, I have added an extra touch of pink to the second page. The Dear Lizzy ephemera pack flag and wood veneer banner add a little extra detail without overwhelming the overall feel of the spread.
