It's Tarrah back with you today to share a new scrapbook layout using the gorgeous Simple Stories Love and Adore collection!

I was inspired this week to use lots of different size circles on my layout...I even die cut my photo into a circle shape too! I added machine stitching to each individual circle for extra texture. 

This layout design is a great one to do if you only have scraps left! You can simply punch circles from patterned paper and you have an instant design! I also decided to fussy cut that LOVE title from one of the journal cards and I also machine stitched through it to create texture!

I just LOVE that geometric chipboard heart! I wanted it to take centre stage on this layout so incorporating it into the title was the perfect solution! Lots of other ephemera hearts were also added from the ephemera pack to help balance my page.

To Be Creative Art Journal Page by Farrel Tailor

Hello Sassy Scrapper Fans!!! Farrel here to share with you another art journal page I created using Dylusions Paint and Distress Crayons.

Let me show you a few shots of my process but I also have a video at the end of the post so feel free to see my creative process. I have also linked all the products used to the shop.

I started by using covering my art journal page with a music sheet, I bought a book from a swap meet last year and I find it is perfect for backgrounds. I also tore up an old dress pattern I got from my mum and used Prima 3D Gel Gloss to adhere it all down.

I then used a baby wipe to spread my Dylusions Paints - London Blue and Vibrant Turquoise.

I also used Kaisercraft 12x12 Lattice Stencil with White Linen Dylusions Paint.

Once it was dry, I used some builders tape I bought from my local hardware store and used it like a stencil with both Texture Paste and Black Marble Dylusions Paint. I also used Vintage Photo Distress Crayon and a baby wipe to add a vintage feel to the page.

I used my takeaway coffee coffee cup and White Linen paint to stamp onto my page and once it was dry I then used my Distress Crayon Vintage Photo with a small amount of water and using my fingers I rubbed it over my paper for a more aged look.

I used my typewriter for my title and mounted onto black cardstock and adhered to these pieces. I then painted some more old paper with London Blue paint and cut out some hearts. I used Black Soot Distress Crayons and a white paint pen for highlights.

Simplified Snailmail with Kylie

Hi friends.Kylie back today sharing an easy little flip book for Snailmail. This year I made the decision to simplify my snailmail.Time is a big issue for all of us!This little booklet delivers loads of character and style yet took me 10 minutes to pop together.No lie!

I'm once again using the 'In Bloom' collection by My Minds Eye.

I cut a piece of paper down to 17cm x 30cm  and folded at regular 10cm intervals along the longest edge.That simple!Thanks to the classy nature of this collection I really didn't have to over embellish my front cover at all.

As you open the front cover you are greeted with another embellished folder.Love all that gold!

Here is a little look at it opened all the way out.I made a simple pocket for each side piece and I am going to use a paperclip to attach my folded letter in the centre.The reason I do this is so this folder can be used as an envelope for storage once my penpal has received it.It will look a little like this when they receive it.......

Agnus | Pocket Pages - Pink Paislee's Oh My Heart

Hi again, I'm back with another project life spread using the fun 'Oh My Heart' collection by Pink Paislee. 

I have gone with a softer colour palette compared to my previous week's mixed media pockets, but they still flow nicely and there are definitely elements that carry over across both lots of pages. 

Inspired by the cute scalloped design from one of the papers in the range, I cut out several scallops and stitched them onto a gradient background. I used my date stamp with one of the gorgeous rose gold foiled cardstock designs and added a few of the lovely charms to create my date card. 

I added a few more of pieces from the foiled cut-apart sheet to create some quick and easy filler cards.

I decided to print all of my landscape photos on a smaller scale this week to allow me to add more colour with the bright patterned paper designs. I repeated the stitching elements by framing a few of the my pics - adding some random metallic paint splatters to tie in with the foiled elements throughout the pockets. 

 I had a bit of a play with the new Color Philosophy Ink Pads from Prima, and loved that I was able to create some soft watercolour effects by simply adding water. To do this, I simply applied the ink onto my stamp block them used a wet brush to pick up the colour then used it in the same way I would use watercolour paint to create a few custom backgrounds. Once dry I used the same ink colours to stamp images and phrases onto my backgrounds.

I often repeat the same elements across both pages to keep things looking balanced - in this case using more scallops and stitched frames.  

Here are those scallops again - this time as a guide for my journal strips for this card. I have also used one of the planner stamps to help tell my story over the foiled cut-apart. 

 I found a good use for my other 'inked' card, although I do realise now that I made it slightly a bit too short ;)

Repeating those scallops again with another stitched frame, and because simple and quick ways to dress up your pockets are always a plus - why not let the products do the work for you with more beautiful foiled details.
