Choose Your Own Path | Pinkfresh Studio Escape the Ordinary | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with today to share a new layout created using the awesome Escape the Ordinary collection by Pinkfresh Studio!

I started off this week with a blank sheet of white cardstock and I wanted to add some mixed media in colours that matched and went with the Escape The Ordinary collection. I didn't put any gesso down first and went ahead and did the packaging technique using some watercolours to achieve the colour wash effect.

White the cardstock was drying, I drew some different size triangles freehand in my Silhouette Cameo software and chose some of the papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad to cut them out from. I then placed them horizontally across my page with the points both upright and facing down also.

I then machine stitched through the centre on the horizontal in black thread to add some definition and texture. The photo I am documenting is one of my eldest son going to his Year 7 camp earlier this year..it was definitely perfect to use with this collection as it has an outdoor feel to it.

I then embellished using the chipboard stickers, ephemera, cardstock stickers and puffy stickers. The You'll Move Mountains' and 'Choose Your Own Path' are both popped up on foam tape for some dimension.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Check out the Sassy store for this awesome collection plus so much more too!

Home | Pink Paislee Auburn Lane | Agnus Kasprzak

Hi again :) I've got a scrapbook layout to share today using more beautiful items from Pink Paislee's Auburn Lane collection.

I loved how this range worked in my project life album, which I shared here and here and thought that it would be perfect for a layout too.

This collection has lots of gorgeous rich tones and copper foil accents but I wanted to achieve a light and airy feel to my page, so I used the patterns sparingly in a series of layers built up beneath my photo which allowed me to use lots of different patterns without overwhelming the page.  I used mini thickers to create my title and framed it with one of the wood veneer frames from the collection to prevent it from getting lost on the page, and cut out a few mini houses from the paper range to reinforce my theme.

To give the bottom half of my page which was prominently white a sense of depth, I added layers of distress inks using the 'ink smooshing' method which basically involves applying the ink to a slick surface (left over packaging) then spraying the ink with water before pressing it onto the page in a random manner.

I like how the ink softened the stark white cardstock and helped to balance out the mustard and pink colours featured on the page.

Leaves | Pinkfresh Studio Escape the Ordinary | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with today to share a new layout created using the awesome Escape the Ordinary collection by Pinkfresh Studio!

This collection is so perfect for outdoor and Autumn themed projects! I found this photo of my eldest son from a few years ago amongst some Autumn leaves and I knew it would be perfect to document with this collection!

The colours in the photo go perfectly with the earthy tones in the collection! I picked out lots of the greens, yellows and a touch of blue and black for my colour scheme today!

I did pop up both the hexagon shapes to add dimension to the layout. I like how this creates a nice shadow.

I layered lots of the ephemera pieces on top of and around the photo, picking out phrases and elements that suited.

I was able to still achieve the visual triangle around the layout too, I always try to make sure that my work is completely balanced when I create a layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Make sure to check out the Sassy store for this awesome collection!

Happy creating!

Smile | Pinkfresh Studio Escape the Ordinary | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with today to share a new layout created using the awesome Escape the Ordinary collection by Pinkfresh Studio!

I started off my layout today by choosing the green background paper as my base to work on and build up some layers on. I also picked my photo so that I knew what colours I was going to be able to add to the page.

I matted my photo with a few of the papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad plus I also cut the strip from the small red paper that says 'Always Be Brave', I sometimes like to add quotes like this on pages where I have scrapped about myself, its a nice reminder to myself!

I also loved the 'Smile' chipboard piece and placed that just above the 'Always Be Brave' strip. The gorgeous black, white and gold butterflies definitely pop on my page and I love how they both look. I added some leaf ephemera and chipboard underneath in a horizontal design. I added some of the gorgeous cardstock stickers at the top and bottom of the photo and I love how they look too!

To finish off I added some small stars, some gold Heidi Shine and the date stamp that the photo was taken.

I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Escape the Ordinary collection and create! Or if you don't have this collection, pop into the Sassy store and purchase it now!

Happy creating!
