Always Lovely | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for some inspiration each Friday!

I wanted to include a cut file design into this week's layout design and since there are quite a few cloud stickers and ephemera in this collection, I decided on this cute cloud cut file to compliment some of the cloud elements. I absolutely LOVE that striped rainbow paper and love how the clouds look with some colour added!

Once the clouds were backed with the rainbow paper, I then added foam adhesive underneath the entire cut file so that it would be raised up from the background cardstock. I chose a picture of my sister and I taken on her 40th birthday last year. She is the one on the right.

My title is made up of 2 different pieces, the Lovely die- cut word and the Always chipboard word. As well as the cloud elements, I also added a few hearts in for extra dimension and colour. I added chipboard ones, puffy ones and die-cut ones. The flair button down in the bottom area is from my stash.
Lastly I splattered some black mist around and added the date stamp from the date the photo was taken.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to purchase any 6' x 6' paper pad from the Sassy store and try out a layout like this one!

Happy creating!

Tarrah x

Pocket Pages | Elle's Studio All My Heart | Agnus Kasprzak

Hi again :) I've been a busy scrapper documenting the start of the year with a gorgeous assortment of items from the Elle's Studio All My Heart collection.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Elle's Studio products because they have you covered on all bases including paper, cards, stamps, alphas and a range of accents and really like the way their colours and graphics work with a variety of different photos/themes which is perfect for this type of project.

My monthly title card came together quickly using horizontal strips of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper stack, tags, die-cuts, stickers, a stamp and topped off with an awesome wood veneer!

Because the colours on this collection are mainly all on the cool side, I added some warmth with the wood veneers and a sheet of wood grain paper from another Elle's Studio collection, then used a palette knife to spread some texture paste through a 6x6" stencil to give my background some dimension.

I kept my design clean and simple this month because I want to focus on adding more stories into our album this year.

I split all of my 6x4" backgrounds with horizontal strips of patterned paper - I find that combining a solid coloured base with a pattern that has a white base always seems to work well.

I often look for an element that can be repeated throughout my pockets and added more wood veneer accents to this side of the page to help tie everything in together.

Making use of the fun stamp set to add a bit of detail to one of the filler cards included in the January kit

I filled one of my pockets with a mix of cute wood confetti and a sprinkle of sequins to make a fun shaker card, sealing the top with my fuse tool.

I also create a simple flip pocket to add an extra photo and journaling. I cut out a 3x4" pocket form a 12x12" page protector ensuring that the top of the pocket had an extra inch or so, so that I could fold and secure it to the back of the journal card.

The Happy Life | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for inspiration once a week!

The first step to this technique is to work out what size squares you would like to use. I used a 1 and a quarter inch size square punch to punch out the squares. To achieve a similar look to this one, you want to punch out about 60 squares from all different patterned papers. I then cut them all in half diagonally so they become triangles and grouped them into similar colours.

I started to lay them out on the background white cardstock to make a chevron pattern making sure not to have the same paper too close to each other. I used a glue dot behind each triangle as I knew that I wanted to machine stitch through them all once the design was finished.

This is quite a time consuming technique, however once you have finished, the result is awesome and well worth the effort! Because the background is fairly busy with all those patterned papers, I kept the embellishing very minimal......just keeping them around my photo.

All this took was the 6' x 6' paper pad a little bit of time and patience and a few embellishments and the page was complete! Check it all out in the Sassy store, there are sooo many gorgeous products in there, you will want 1 of everything!

I hope I have inspired you to give the 6' x 6' paper pad a go? So fun to use!

Happy creating!

Love You To The Moon | Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous Whimsical collection by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee. I will be working with this collection over the next few weeks so stay tuned for inspiration once a week!
This month, I did not order any 12' x 12' sheets of patterned paper, I wanted to challenge myself and you to use just the 6' x 6' paper pad!! For my first layout, I chose a cut file that I knew would suit the Whimsical collection and chose different papers that I could back behind each letter.

Once I had worked out where all the patterned papers were going to go, I added foam dots around each letter on the back of the cardstock background. I then took each individual paper and cut it down to size to fit and adhered it to the background cardstock. I love the way this creates the shadow and dimension on a page. I continued with each letter until they were all backed with papers.

I also added some foam dots to a few of the embellishments to tie in with the dimension feel to this page. I did however keep the embellishing to a minimum because there was so much going on with all those different patterned papers. I clustered a few things around the photo of my boys and added a few other things here and there.

I did also add some machine stitching to the base of the cloud stickers at the top of the layout and also to the bottom scallop strip too.

So all this took was the 6' x 6' paper pad, the cut file in the background and a few embellishments and the page was complete! Check it all out in the Sassy store, there are sooo many gorgeous products in there, you will want 1 of everything!

I hope I have inspired you to give the 6' x 6' paper pad a go? So fun to use!

Happy creating!
