Holly Jolly | Pink Paislee Yuletide | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean and today I am back to share another Christmas layout with you!
I am working with the gorgeous Pink Paislee Yuletide collection and I have 1 more layout to share with you next week using it!

As I am getting to the end of my kit, I found that I had some papers left but not so many embellishments. So this week I decided to use up a fair bit of paper in my design and kept the embellishing minimal. I created most this layout with most of the elements on the bottom of the page but tied it all together by creating a small cluster at the top of the page also.

The large gold star and flair button are from my stash, I like how they add some decoration on the right side of the photo. The phrase stickers, scallop border sticker and jewels are also from my stash and these are scattered around to add interest to the page. I added foam adhesive underneath my photo and also under the title so that it was the same height as my photo.

Under my photo, I tucked in one of the die-cut tags and one of the acetate banner tags from the ephemera pack. I like how they draw attention to my photo. I added some twine to the top of the tag and the bottom of the tag was the perfect spot to stamp my date stamp.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Sassy blog today! Make sure to check out the Sassy store - you will find so much goodness in there!

Happy creating!

Merry Christmas | Pink Paislee Yuletide | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean and today I am back to share another Christmas layout with you!
I am working with the gorgeous Pink Paislee Yuletide collection over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for some festive inspiration using this collection!

This week I have created a page with lots of tags in my design. Because there were 4 tags in the die-cut pack, I decided to also my cut my photo into a tag shape in order to have an odd number of tags on the page. Odd numbers are often better when it comes to designs. I chose the cute spotted paper as my background and adhered the tags to the paper.

I threaded some red and white baker's twine through the holes in the tops of the tags and glued down the ends of the twine at the edge of the page. I also added one of the gorgeous gold tree clips to the right hand corner of my photo.

I layered the tags with some extra embellishments like the stars and candy canes from the die-cut pack. I also added a super cute flair button from my stash that went with my photo to the left. I added a few phrase stickers from my stash to bring in a little bit of black and white.
Thanks so much for stopping by this week!

Make sure to check out ALL the gorgeous Christmas collections in the Sassy store, there is something for everyone!

Happy creating!

These Are The Moments | Pinkfresh Studio Escape the Ordinary | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers,

It's Tarrah McLean back with today to share a new layout created using the awesome Escape the Ordinary collection by Pinkfresh Studio!

This week I wanted to focus on the gorgeous layered tags included in the Escape the Ordinary collection! I decided to arrange them how I liked them, once I was happy I adhered them down in place. I decided to add a few little extra embellishments to each tag including stitched hearts, stamps, ephemera and puffy stickers.

This photo is of my gorgeous sister with her beautiful eldest daughter, I love the tones in the photo so it was a perfect one to use on this layout. Everything co-ordinated perfectly!

I love the stitching detail on all the tags, it really adds a pop of great texture along with fabulous visual interest! Sometimes I struggle with how to use these types of tags but I figure if I added them all, I couldn't go wrong right?

I finished off with some splatters of black mist and the date stamp! I really like how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by the Sassy blog today!

Check out the Sassy store for this collection plus loads more gorgeous must have products!

Happy creating!

Fly High Mixed Media Tag by Farrel Tailor

Hello and happy Thursday everyone!!!
Today I am sharing with you all my very first mixed media tag. I had so much fun creating this tag and can't wait to create some more!! There is a process video at the bottom of the blog if you would like to see how I created the tag.

To create the tag, I used the packaging from a 2 minute noodle box and covered it with Prima Rose Quartz - Grateful Heart pp.

Then using the dabbing technique I applied the following Distress Oxide Inks - Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey. (I stamped the inks onto my craft mat and spritzed with water before dabbing and dried in between colours)

Once I was happy with the colours for my background, I then used the font stamp from Darkroom Door Hummingbirds set. Using the same stamp set, I stamped the hummingbird and leafy branch onto some white cardstock and used Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder - Black Forest Black.

I then cut out the hummingbird and using a waterpen, I then applied Distress Oxide Inks Seedless Preserves and Salty Ocean to my hummingbird and applied some cheesecloth to the back.  I then inked around the edges of the tag using Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot

After adhering my stamped bird, I then stamped "Fly High" which is from the same stamp set and added some splattering using Dylusions White Linen Spray.

And there you have it..... a mixed media tag!!!  I hope I have inspired you to create something special.

Until next time - Happy Scrappin'
Farrel xx

Leanne | Simple Stories Birthday Tags...

Hello Sassy Friends! It's Leanne here today and I am sharing a super easy set of three birthday tags created with the gorgeous Simple Stories Let's Party collection!

These tags have all been created using leftovers and I have styled them with a simple, basic and then a more layered look in mind.

Tag 1 | Simple

Step 1. Trim a piece of cardstock to 3"x4". Punch a hole at the top center and remove/trim the corners evenly.

Step 2. Layer two strips of patterned paper and the lower edge. Add a sticker sentiment to the lowest paper strip and a piece of twine to the punched hole.

Step 3. Adhere the die cut number to the tag and layer with a paper piece from the ephemera pack.

Tag 2 | Basic

Step 1. Trim a piece of cardstock to 3"x4". Punch a hole at the top center and remove/trim the corners evenly.

Step 2. Trim a second piece of cardstock (I've used navy) to 3"x4". Adhere to the tag.

Step 3. Trim a 3"x4" Journaling Card  to fit the navy cardstock, allowing a slight border to show. Add fussy cut stars between the three layers.

Step 4. Trim a sentiment from the Elle's Studio Cameron Lil Snippets and add to the lower section of the tag.

Step 5. To finish, mount a die cut ephemera candle onto foam tape and layer to the top of the tag.

Tag 3 | Layered

Step 1. Trim a piece of cardstock to 3"x4". Remove/trim the corners evenly. Trim a notch from the lower section.

Step 2. Trim a second tag slightly smaller than the first. Adhere to the cardstock. Punch a small circle and adhere to the top of the tag. Punch a hole through all of the layers at the top center of the tag.

Step 3. Trim a strip of patterned paper slightly wider than the tag. Adhere to the lower section of the tag. Trim a sentiment from the Elle's Studio Cameron Lil Snippets and layer on top of the paper strip.

Step 4. Add a small chipboard frame to the tag, layering both the sentiment cut apart and the paper strip. Add a small sticker to the left hand border of the frame.

Step 5. Finish the tag by adding a foam mounted ephemera die cut and a piece of twine to the punched hole.
