As I showed in my earlier post, the colours and patterns in this collection are not only perfect for all those boy memories but also work really well with everyday photos too.
This is a mid-month post, so I have skipped my usual title card and instead started the page off with a photo and a filler card using a few enamel dot shapes with the awesome Days of the Week clear stamps from the store. In case you missed it, I also showed how versatile these stamps are on a full sized scrapbook layout in my previous post.
I used a few different photo sizes this week and liked the way it allowed me to add more pattered paper and I creating a simple pocket gave a place for some of the ephemera I collected from the month.
I layered a couple of the larger die cut ephemera pieces to help balance out the square shaped photo and used one of the washi strips to ground my journal strip.
Mixing in more of the fun patterns for the second part of the page - and using little pops of colour on each photo to lead the eye across the page.
Adding an embellishment cluster is always a good way to add interest to a photo with negative space, and I used a mix of die-cut ephemera, stamping onto a washi strip and a couple of enamel shapes.
I often look for printed phrases that will help to tell the story, and backing these onto contrasting patterns I was able to create some quick and easy filler cards.
